That we've been waiting for proper way of watching QuakeWorld games. Hopefully the long wait is now gone with EZTV.
The project started a bit before summer and we have come a long way ever since. There have been annoying bugs and to be honest, even really fatal ones. Of course there are still things that needs to be fixed and some could be even operating system related so we need more people testing EZTV.
The good news is that EZTV actually works currently. It even has the chat feature people have requested on many occasions. For EZTV to work properly you'll need recent enough build of ezQuake (build 2012 or newer is good). Don't forget to use command
qtv_buffertime 0.1 since it reduces the delay of the chat.
Of course there are things to come like new http page and faster implementation of the chat and even proxy features (proxy things will probably be in MVDSV in the future), but those are not ready yet. One
public EZTV is available at this time.
Edit 16.7.: TEH new look!
Edit huh?: TEH follow feature!
Clients can follow certain observer, making EZTV capable of following a commentator's choice of pov.
Edit: 29.7.: TEH download feature!
Clients can now download stuff through EZTV. Well, at least those found on the machine where EZTV is running. So no more disconnects on new maps.
Edit: 30.8.: TEH chat!
Spectators can chat properly (nicks, cmd users) as long as you have new enough ezQclient (build 2005 preferred).
Edit: 5.9.: TEH privacy!
Private messages are now filtered out from EZTV.
Edit: 9.9.: TEH autotrack!
Use demo_autotrack 1 to follow server's autotrack info.
Edit 16.9.: Teh privacy 2!
Messagemode2 and team_say are now filtered out from EZTV. Also got rid of the quotes (""
using messagemode1 and messagemode2 as EZTV observer.
