someone needs to step up and make things clear here.

I have heard rumblings about an official Ownage being imminent, and this alternative tournament is unlikely to work out optimally for a number of reasons. I'd recommend holding off on this for a little while.

why not sign up for both?
guys this isn't ownage, so there was no name change or anything. it's just another tourney from the same guy that did the netquake-1000$ tourney earlier this year (from the looks of it). let's not complain about someone volunteering to organize another duel tourney. it's not like we have a whole lot happening at the moment, no?

Agreed dEus. Leave the negative comments behind. Zalon has stated that there will be no Ownage this season, and I just can't see how this tourney in any way would be less good than Ownage? Let's get our lucky shirts on and start the fragging!

It's questionable whether Ownage will run this season, but... Has QW gone so conservative that even just the idea of having two duel tournaments at the same time sounds like something way too radical? OMG!

Well, normally more tournaments is better, but two identically purposed tournaments is completely redundant and only serves to lessen both instead of adding anything to the scene, and I guess this one was here first so what's done is done.

True Rikoll, I can see that you have spotted my name on the signup list. I thought it was time to win yet another duel tournament. Especially now that I can force all you scandos to ping up to hpw pings to make things fair :E

There are no rules about antilag. Is it allowed or not?

It should be! Make it default guys, it has turned out to be useful.

Some suggestions concerning rules:

- Add a rule about antilag. Since antilag is a feature on a server that cannot be enabled or disabled by the players, the general rule should be that the players themselves agree on a server to play on. If they can't come to an agreement, then an admin would need to decide what server to play on.
- Fallbunny should be ON by default! Most servers already got this. Invert the rule, and state that it could be turned OFF if both players agree.
- Change the way BO5 matches are played! In its current state, we could miss alot of nice 3-1 / 3-2 matches that would be a 3-0 instead. Change it so that if one player leads 2-0, the one with 0 wins decide the next map no matter who picked first or whatever. In the case of 2-1, the same should apply. The one with 1 map win should still pick the next. In the case of 2-2, the last remaining map should be played ofc.
- cl_delaypacket should ALWAYS be used if the pings are uneven. Up to a certain point. I think 52ms is a good point, since most European players can get that ms to most European servers. Sure, antilag removes much of the impact ms have on the game, but it still have an impact. If the game are played on a server without antilag, this is even more important.

I think these changes would make it a more fair tournament for everyone, and hopefully more fun for most participants.

*** edited some typos ***

edit2: fakeshaft should also be allowed. every tournament the last years have allowed this feature.
