Why don't we do it?
I think this can help bring in more players.

IDK legal stuff. That means IDK if any of the clients we have today can be submitted, or the game content, 'cos they are under GPL.
IDK if the fact that the game is totally free (no profit for them) is a dealbreaker.

If it doesnt work on steam maybe we can try distributing on alternatives:

What do u think?

Steam already sells quake: http://store.steampowered.com/app/2310/

They *may* consider bundling it with nquake, but I doubt it. To them it would be just not worth the time and effort of even making a new zip file

edit: LOL I just noticed their screenshots are from qtest or something.. Look at the RL(?) in the 2nd screenshot

I believe we are under evaluating Steam.
Quake forums are somewhat active there, and most of the players are asking for help there.
Sometimes i post there, but it's not enough. We needed more visibility, and I mean more people posting there, to help the buyers and convert them to qw.nu

nice
never argue with an idiot. they'll bring you back to their level and then beat you with experience.

Sorry I wasn't clear on the previous message by "the game" I mean the QuakeWorld client we use with the free maps =)
Phil that bundle idea is not bad, I saw some game mods being free requiring you to buy the MAIN game, but from the same Author/Company and all closed source =(((
