There are not only silly/q3 stuff, we also have simple health icons like these from old eQuake, they can be replacement until someone make faithful hud icons.

That's what we used before and also the source (and license) of that is unknown.

Hi, I don't play QuakeWorld, nor do I care for HUD icons, the stock icons still do fine for me. I rather see PrimeeviL finish his skins first (maybe even for hipnotic and rogue!), and then focus on 2d art. But, since we are all standing on the sideline telling PrimeeviL what to do, let's just sit back and let him work some more and show off his skills some more. I'm sure he will start working on HUD icons in the future, pushing him to do HUD icons might only prove to be contraproductive in the long run. Help me understand the little that I know.

fuhquake's default hud icons were simple and georgeous.

PrimeviL, is it possible for your to create the custom player skin using the default brownish pallet that quake uses to define which to change for pant and shirt colour? @Canadian Sniper : Dunno if it's possible dude, i never tested and i don't know working in 8bit. We've had this conversation before. Monster proved it to be possible. I'm new to this forum, I'm scared :x

i still think it's too bright. it should be the same color/brightness as the ztn floor on that screenshot imo
and as for the shape.. hmmm it doesn't feel like the hud items "click" together with the sbar, it just feels like a solid sbar that you put hud items on top of.
make the "holes" for the hud items more apparent, more like the old sbart that you did with curvy shapes.

that hit the spot! shape is golden! and indeed, still needs some minor tweaking but i have faith that you'll figure it out. can't wait to see if you make new ammo icons to match
