I think I have about 15 mice in the drawer (includning the Razers) but use the G1 myself. IMO it's a good overall mouse. I'm not sure what you mean by "negative accelleration". Elaborate please. MX310 and Razer Pro comes close as well, but they feel a bit "funny" in my palm.
The G3 was a disapointment: they moved the optical sensor further back compared the the original Pilot and G1 (a no-no IMO) and in my experience the "no slip grip" rubber surface actually makes it slip more than a polished plastic surface. Same with the G5. The DPI switch is just hype and pretty useless in a game like QW IMO.
Fatality 1010 was also a dissapointment. Exciting shape (reminicent of the old awesome Logitech Wingman/Gaming Mouse), but broken firmware (which can't be updated) and the extra right button just never felt right in my palm. And the weights didn't fit firmly which made the whole thing feel like it was falling apart.
I'm looking forward to testing the new Razer/Microsoft Habu mouse, though my hopes aren't too high if it compares anything to the previous Microsoft Laser 6000 gaming mouse, which was horrible IMO.
I don't like the laser sensors either because they are just *too* sensitive on most surfaces -- I have to lift it twice the height of a regular optical mouse which is like going back in time to balled mice which crippled aim everytime you lifted and moved the damn thing.
I guess it comes down to what you are used to, if your style is more "move the arm" or "move the wrist" type and how big your hand is. :-)

When I turn very fast in qw not all movement is registred. Like if I do a 360 fast it takes perhaps 20cm to do it but if I do it slow its only 10 cm. Sometimes I cant even do a 360 when I turn fast enough.

Isn't that fixed by some patch? Or by changing mouse settings in QW?
Edit: Or maybe i was thinking about Q3, think i got the same shit there but it was solved by some brilliant command they had invented. www.facebook.com/QuakeWorld

Same with the G5. The DPI switch is just hype and pretty useless in a game like QW IMO. well if you actually set the G5 up well it isnt a problem. I have my G5 at 1000Hz, with all the buttons performing qw functions (8 in all), including the dpi switch. the dpi is fixed at 2000. IMO its the best mouse ive ever used. Feels great in my hand and with my large QPAD Lowsens mat it is great to operate too. The fact that you can change the weight is a nice touch too that can be integral to ur setup.

Someone said in another thread that's been under recent activity that if you used -dinput on a high dpi mouse (such as the G1) the negative acceleration would go away. Are you using -dinput ?

Negative acceleration is inherent to the mouse. It will not go away. It's just because the mouse sensor cannot track all of the movements it makes.

I too thought this was the definition of negative accel. i used to get it horribly on my old ie 3.0 (only 400dpi). -dinput is better tho imo, tho some would disagree. (but theyre wrong).

I have the G1 mouse, and it is perfect. I get no neg. accel, its always the same cm for a 360 no matter how fast or slow i move the mouse. No other mouse i have tested can do that. Error, do u use setpoint? I use setpoint driver 2.60.606 with setpoint implementation, no -msmooth (witch add latency). But use -dinput, more responsive.

I have the X710, which is pretty similar. It's ok, especially liked the extra thin cord which makes it feel more like a cordless. The extra button behind the wheel is placed not too far behind which makes it pretty useful contrary to some other mice. But it feels back heavy IMO. The sensor should really have been moved a few centimeters further ahead. Couldn't get used to it. Maybe they did on the X750.. Regards, PaRadiZer

I use the default MS driver in WinXP and have no problems. usbhack set to 500Hz, -dinput, vsynch, but no -msmooth or m_filter. That's on a 440BX motherboard. Regards, PaRadiZer

Regards, PaRadiZer Microsoft mice are favored by a lot of games. I think it's because of the simplistic designs and drivers are not needed (you can use all of the buttons without installing a thing on any Windows PC). I'm still using the 1.1 Intellimouse Explorer because after using one for years, I've just gotten used to it. For the high specs mice, the Razer Diamondback is the best IMO.

If you like the IntelliMouse Explorer, but want the specs of a Razer, then you should get the Habu or you should take a look at the new edition IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0Microsoft Habu Gaming Mouse Microsoft - IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 - New Edition

Regards, PaRadiZer Hooked up the X710 again and of course the main bad about this mouse is that it only does 125Hz samplerate. Hopefully the X750 is more capable. Other than that the buttons are quite good and the slightly sticky rubber surface works quite nicely as well. The two, left sidebuttons work very well compared to other mice I've tried too. The sharply inclined sides means that you can still firmly grip with your thumb, and thus lift the mouse, without accidently touching them. I'd say that this one has potential. Regards, PaRadiZer

I like the look of the G5, but I can't really understand the need to add MORE weight to a mouse. Cheap mice are great, often cause they're so damned light.
