The scale. In most RTS games you're limited to only a couple of hundred units at most. The game Paraworld (ghahioha) for example had a limit of like 53 units i think (not kidding) and that sucks ass imo. I want WAR with BIG machines and LOTS OF THEM! If you watched the movie you could see that gigantic spider for example, that's an example of an experimental unit that comes into play at the later stages of the game. It kinda renders the level 1 units useless as it can even walk over them. The game is just so...massive, whatever you come up with there's always something worse to throw at your enemy. Then you got the fancy technical details such as the possibility to zoom in and out like one motherfucker, and the option to use dual monitor support, which is new to RTS i think. It's just brilliant but i guess if you want to play things like starcrap and such then be my guest. And hey, if you know of another RTS where you can plunge out more than 2000 units to battle with (besides Total Annihilation) then please tell me about it. :} www.facebook.com/QuakeWorld

I would agree with Ã…ke, the game looks nice and the battles seems to be played at a much larger scale. I really like that the ships looks like real ships and not some small boat that can't fit even one tank. Watching the gameplay presentation, it looks cool the way you easily can command your troops and do coordinated attacks from multiple sides, that together with the possiblity to use ETA times, sounds really cool! But a QW Killer, i think not

from that trailer you posted it looks nice and all..but did you ever see a whole match? I've seen 2 or 3 with the best ranked players on sc ladder....and it kind of took away all the fun the trailer first brought...
Have a hard time imagine sc could ever get as much tactics and whatever like in wc3 or tft... just gonna be really long fights (and booring fights).

I guess that's kinda true in some cases. Anyway, i can't find any energy to play the game even if i have a beta account and all because losing in RTS games is like the most boring thing ever. I also think the skillset is a bit different in Supcom than in any RTS of today (other than it's predecessor(?) Total Annihilation) as it focuses more on resources and stuff. Expand and win instead of the usual über micromanagement ala Starcraft. It's refreshening if you ask me. www.facebook.com/QuakeWorld

To be honest i haven't played it. I was always under the impression that those games were squad based, which sucks. Anyway, the unit limit in Supcom is said to be like either 500, 750 or 1000 and i guess that's what most computers will be able to handle in the start (with the huge maps etc). This game is so modable that it will be more epic the better computers we get (this is probably the case with all games, but TA was a prime example which was first played with 250 unit limit in the original and ended up at like 5000 unit limit today). Supcom will probably be a very fun game to duke it out in with friends etc so i'm looking forward to it even if i'm not going to play it über seriously. www.facebook.com/QuakeWorld

So, the game is released! I bought it and i thought i'd check if anyone else did. Looking for players who aren't complete assholes to practice against. Sometimes it can be a real pain to play ranked games if you lose to a retarded opponent. :p www.facebook.com/QuakeWorld

Uhm, it's not like you unlock things. A better word for ranking would be ladder perhaps. You challenge persons in a ladder and get points if you win/lose. If you don't want to challenge any particular person you just press an "automatch" button and then it sets you up against someone who got about as much points in the ladder as yourself. The game kinda rocks really. It has received good reviews in all the major magazines and websites afaik. www.facebook.com/QuakeWorld

There is really no limit in number of units, but the more you build the more expensive it becomes. I haven't seen more then 5000 units for one side. -- "Dag eats little Reloads for breakfast." The movies are killer, how can you not like them! Playing is a little different. Controlling too many units makes the micromanagement an issue, it makes it too automated.
In my opinion, micromanagement ala Starcraft is irreplacable, controlling a few units but controlling them well is much more entertaining to me than sending a fleet of next to uncontrollable units. Also, there are no keyboard shortcut on buildings, wtf =(?
Another thing... the game is a huge ressource hugger, you need a dual core or even quad, and if you plan to use dual monitor, which is kind of a nice feature, you'll need a good video card too.
