No build for MacOSX since Tonik's Mac cant compile ezQuake anymore (Oldman where R U?...:E)

Things need to be tested:
1) First is very importand - check all old features that you use in your config. We must be sure, no broken featuers since 1517. It's really important.
Try to play 1on1, 2on2, 4on4, ffa, endi, end, povdmm4, tf, <WHATEVERELSE>, try to spec all kind of games directly and thru qizmo, watch all kinds of demos (mvd's converted from qwd's is a _MUST ).
If everything is OK for you - just write here: "I dont find any problems with old features, going to check new features..."
If you can - play some games with ezQuake-software. There so few software testers :E
2) Check your fps, mouse feeling, etc. You must not feel any degrade to 1517, only fps increase, etc
3) Check some new features. There are lot of them. If you cant fine documetation at ezquake.sf.net/docs - report here and we'll write docs for you

ezQuake update HOW-TO:
1) Run old ezQuakd and type:
cfg_load my_cfg
cfg_save_unchanged 1
cfg_save my_cfg
2) Run new ezQuake and type:
cfg_load my_cfg
cfg_save_unchanged 0
cfg_save my_cfg
3) restart ezQ to be sure that all is OK

no bug, but bloody annoying; when in ezquake-gl, trying different graphics settings.
select fastest mode and you get this cl_bob thing going on when you move(maybe kickroll, v_kick etc messy stuff too).
after that, trying different graphics settings, the bob/roll/angle stuff is still there. try it and prepare to vomit.
doesnt happen in software mode.

in multiview 4(gl and software), you get e.g. gl shooting rockets and weapons disappearing from everybody, until some1(dunno what logic on who's weapon action ends this) shoots. spawnees can have false weapon info. multiview can show everybody holding rl in their hand, though actually sgscript is working and player has only sg in hand.
picked up from 4on4-mvd demo..

ok, ive noticed smth quickly - dont know is it just me but i think i can rjump much higher than on 1517 any idea?

I still have incorrect gamma in windows after a crash, not that it happens very often but the gamma/crashing issue is still present for me.
But from the few days of heavy using I have encountered no major problems with old settings or new ones, tbh it feels as solid as a full release

Oh there is one thing, "r_tracker_frags 2" does not exec from a config, manually made or cfg_saved and has to be inputed each time the client is started (I have it bound to a key now).

Gamma may be fixed via starting ezquake again after crash, that what VVD mean, also if u know how to reproduce crash tell us plz.

"r_tracker_frags 2" saved for me via cfg_save, if not u may add it manually editing ur cfg, instead of binding key.

solved the problem.

I had a freak second occurance of r_tracker_frags variable in my hud cfg which was set to 1 so was ovveriding the one set to 2.

That effect is in build 1517 too. Frankly, I'd call it a bug.
Also present in the last build of ZQuake for that matter.

cl_bob* and v_kick* effects removed from configs, multiview wrong player stats on screen fixed. Thanks a lot for reporting all the stuff, really appreciate that. Don't stop testing.

Agree i dont like any kind of installers too. ezQuake touch nothing at windows system dirs / registry, so installer is only for n00bs, all others prefer .zip archive.

Aquashark - it's better to store qwprogs.dat in some other place . gamedir fbkt is great.

vegetous - what element display teh scores? 'teamscores'? Try twekins it's options like scale, etc probably some defualts was changed... :E

1) .zip > .exe installer

2) cl_weaponpreselect didn't work for me as it should. I mean, in the prewar everything was good. once I started 2on2 game on dm2 everything went wrong. lemme show U what weapond binds I had:
bind mouse2 "weapon 7 5 4 3 2"
bind q "weapon 8 5 4 3 2"
bind r "weapon 6 5 4 3 2"

additionaly in 2on2/4on4 games I have:
bind x "wep3"
bind z "impulse 5 4"
alias wep3 "impulse 3 2;bind x wep2;bind mouse1 +attack"
alias wep2 "impulse 2;bind x wep3;bind mouse1 +attack"

the problem was:
bind x "wep3"

I always had SSG. When I didnt have SSG, I had problems with switching to SG from RL - instead of shooting with SG I wielded an axe. I had to click "x" several times to switch to SG.

from what I remember, weaponpreselect shouldn't work with "impulse X Y Z".
i had: cl_weapopreselect 1, cl_weapohide 1

any ideas?

transparency issue

while in-game the console charset + some gfx elements have problems with transparency
notice the loading pentagram in the upper right corner and the tiny artefacts in the console font (the letters seem to have a shadow, best visible in comas and numbers).

the funny thing is that when i load ezquake and it starts in console mode there are no such problems. the loading pentagram icon appears with no transparency issues and the console font is crisp and clear.

another bug i found is reported it here: hud resets when viewing 4on4 mvd demos

vegetous - i noticed that beta's and this release have a feature for teamscores display when in demo's etc. It spaces the cells apart to allow the client to show a rocket icon for each team that corressponds to a number. This number shows how many rl's that team has.

When im playing the teamscores are spaced as 1517, but when i watch a demo the extra rl info is placed between the cells.

Ill post a picture in a second.....

the demo screenshot shows the team with the left cell has 2 rl's whilst the team on the right have 1. This feature happens automatically and isnt set up by me, it just does it.

is this your problem?

d2.cpe: Impulse commands are EVIL if you use cl_weaponpreselect and cl_weaponhide. I've changed cl_weaponhide behavior now a bit, but don't think that has anything to do with your cfg.
If you want to use advanced weapon handling, get rid of all "impulse" commands and use "weapon" everywhere. I think the problem is when you select "wep3" it "preselects" a SSG (or sg) with your config, but the client overrides this "preselection" with the preselection you've made by using the "weapon" commands from above.
Aquashark: the artifacts in console font is a known bug. Not sure what's wrong with the pent icon (image looks ok). As for the 4on4 mvd hud bug - let's discuss it on the bug report page. (basically mvd_autohud 0 should help).
Ok, next release (candidate) will also have .zip archive.
BTW, I've made upgrading manual page.

the background isn't supposed to be red, it's supposed to be transparent.

and can you make value 2 for con_fragmessages:

value description

1 Will print frag messages (QW default).
0 Will not print frag messages

and

2 Will print frag messages in console only

Looks like the problem is the space between the frag counters and also it's position (I'm using the same command line).

Since 1517 when in spectator mode if using fullbright, you get this weird ultra FULLbright! Is this going to be corrected?

Same if you enable fullbright in localhost.

The reason is that it will do it in spec or localhost but when playing on a server it has to be set there to happen (much like turbalpha/wateralpha)

I don't know the relation, but after add hud_radar_* to my cfg, I got lots of crashes. And I had no crash before it. I'll try it tomorrow at night again!

Aquashark: for the red pent background, did you try gl_smoothfont 1? Some charsets look like crap with this on or off depending on the console resolution.
