The servers for QHLAN 10 are now online!

They're based on my Bad Luck Troopers Allround serverpack and the specs are:

Quote:
MVDSV 0.25.03
KTX 1.33 build 00325
Qizmo 2.91
+ QTV added soon
(lots of maps, the mappack known from bltpowah included)

The QHLAN 10 servers (Addresses only work LOCALLY except EXTERNAL Qizmo):

hmm, it all depends on the pings we have on iop!

if its bad we need some 1on1/2on2/4on4 servers dedicated for its purpose.

Have been reading previous posts here and the FAQ for QTV, but maybe I'm doing something wrong
I'm completely new to QTV.. today is my first glance at it ever.

Quote:
Server:
qtv localhost:4000
Connected
Buffering for 10 seconds
Connection registered
Gamedir: qw
---------------------
The Abandoned Base
---------------------
Not enough buffered
Not enough buffered
Not enough buffered
....etc....

solved?: the message stops when there's a client connected to the ktx-server, and qtv console prints whatever is printed in the mvdsv console.

Client:
connect 192.168.0.10:27599
Connected
Buffering for 10 seconds
Connection registered
Shutting down tcp:192.168.0.10:27599
Error: source socket error 10035

status: still not doin' it right through the qtvclient console :<

This method seemed to work though:
start a qtv proxy locally (typically without a qtv.cfg). Start up your client, connect to localhost:27599. Type .qtv stream@ipaddress:port.

192.168.0.10 is the local ip of the server, my computer being 192.168.0.30.

mvdsv console prints "MVD streaming client connected from 127.0.0.1:3984 - Smile, you're on QTV!"

Dunno really what to do.. I've followed all the steps in: http://www.fteqw.com/wiki/index.php/FTEQTV_Tutorial

Guess I'll continue google-ing until I find the solution, or if somebody could reply here? Aquashark you seem to know a bit about QTV
Would really wanna get this working for QHLAN!

No further luck with QTV.. found a newer build though through this site: http://cqe.rytir.com/quake-tv/
Quote:
QTV Build 2859.
Couldn't exec "qtv.cfg"
opened udp port 27599
opened tcp port 27599

Welcome to FTEQTV
Please type
qtv server:port
to connect to a tcp server.
qw server:port
to connect to a regular qw server.
demo qw/example.mvd
to play a demo from an mvd.

connect 192.168.0.10:29000
Source registered
Corrupt mvd
Error: server disconnected
Warning: corrupt input packet (542528342) too big! Flushing and reconnecting!
Error: server tcp:192.168.0.10:29000 refused connection
Closing source tcp:192.168.0.10:29000
... and so on forever ...

Also mvdsv 0.25 crashes/restarts on every mapchange when QTV is running.. so no game I'd say
Have to get some sleep now.. work tomorrow. Will see if I can fix this tomorrow evening.. otherwise no QTV :|

Serverside: QTV runs ok without errors, as long as you don't change map or finish playing a map -> server crash/client(s) disconnection
Clientside: Problems connecting either way.. given up :<

Laters! (but hey.. besides QTV the QHLAN servers are going to be great!! )

the problem is not the ping, the problem is that the school only has an ADSL 8/1-line for us so Lorn and others in the crew knocked some doors to try the radiolink, they offered a sum of money to a nearby BBB 100mbit-holder, we'll see how that works out

xazqe, if u still decide use KTX, use the latest from CVS. If u use windows then get precompiled mvdsv+ktx here. mvdsv from CVS required, so i've provide both. Also ktx in form of qwprogs.dll not qwprogs.qvm, this mean less CPU usage = good. Make sure u use sv_progtype 1 in server.cfg.

Thanks qqshka! You're always a helping hero
I'll use what you recommended.. remember when you helped me before with mvdsv 0.19.10 cvs for bltpowah with that spectator 2 bug

Heard from Lornelin that there will be a need for _LOTS_ of local servers for probably all the games because of a weak internet-link, so it's perfect that you provide with a fresh, stable and hopefully reliable pack/combo! I assume the qwprogs.dll goes into ktx dir instead of qw? Thanks a lot mate!

Update after testing:
Quote:
MVDSV 0.25.03-CVS (w), build 2570
Build date: Jan 3 2007, 04:13:12

MVDSV Project home page: http://mvdsv.sourceforge.net

======== QuakeWorld Initialized ========
Added packfile ./ktx/pak0.pak (15 files)
execing server.cfg
execing mvdsv.cfg
Unknown command "mvd_streamport"
Unknown command "mvd_maxstreams"
execing ktx.cfg
... etc ...

Seems like 0.25.03 doesn't recognize the mvd_*.* commands needed for QTV?
Otherwise it seems to be working great! Any new configs required for that 0.25.03?

mvd_streamport is renamed to qtv_streamport and mvd_maxstreams to qtv_maxstreams in CVS version of MVDSV.

Btw xazqe are you using QTV from CVS?

The latest QTV version seems to be 2940. It can be downloaded here: http://svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/fteqw/trunk/?sortby=date

Ah, thanks! qqshka pm:ed me during the day about the mvdsv and ktx changes. Smells like there's been some good bughunting going on with qtv.. just sucks that I'm a win/osx geek and know nothing about how to compile those
Anyone handy enough?
