You are probably right that more cheerful paintings would sell better, because most shallow people not look further than matching colours [...] Did you just call me shallow? But really, you could do all those things you said without using only darkish colours and drawing demons and stuff, couldn't you? The largest hike I have with your paintings and the reason I would never consider buying one (not that I ever buy art) is that they simply don't put me in a good mood. Quite the opposite actually. Shouldn't it be possible to create art that has symbolism and lots of detail that is not about demons, have a creepy poem along with it etc.? Just a thought. Oh right, you provoked me into writing this because I think you called me shallow. :p

Hehehehe I tried to keep it all as general as I could. Sorry if you feel offended. I do nasty sweet stuff sometimes. All bright colours and terribly sweet images. And then it makes me feel sick in my stomach and teeth and want to go do something dark again. As knowing there is a monster in your closet or hiding under your bed. Hearing footsteps in the dark, surely knowing they are following you. Seeing scary movements in the shadows. Weeeee...... Ho hum... (I like the same for books and music. Dark, scary, mysterious, weird...) Anyways, the sweet stuff I do is mostly a bit more like children book images or ehm things for babies and stuff. You know. And if it makes you feel better you can buy a postcard with bright tulips on it everywhere. Hahahaha. I make my things as they come. I do not go 'look' for something to make up in front. It is what it is. Therefor I am not really making commercial things. Not the previous thoughts of making something for the good selling market. I have no complaints, I sell ok. Buuuuut can always be better ofcourse! Here.... something sweet... BEWARE YOUR TEETH!!

Hey, I'm not saying you should. Not at all. My gripe was only that you somehow said that if you're doing something that is *not* dark, mysterious etc. it automatically had be sugar sweet. I don't think it does, but then again I'm not very artsy. :p Here.... something sweet... BEWARE YOUR TEETH!! I agree. Your other work is much much MUCH better. This doesn't have much soul.

You're not very nice. Aw. I'm sorry. I thought it was funny. This doesn't have much soul. That's it exactly! Thanks for understanding.

Pretty interesting stuff, Buur. Must be in some way, since I looked through the whole thread. (:
Allthough I'm more the kind of person who would paint an entire room all black, with a blood-red line in the middle all the way round, with mirrors hanging on the wall every 36.63cm. But who knows! Maybe a painting will make it here in the future!
(And sorry for mistaking you for a male in-game the other day. (; )

Hah. *puts on salesman hat and red butterfly tie* A deep, dark, mysterious, filled with this and thats drawing/painting of my hand would look excellent on a black wall. *throws off all the salesman shits* If I can make a suggestion, I would like the red line dripping on the bottom as if it was blood slowly running over the black wall. The mirrors....eh...... hmzz.... dunno, that makes me think of prostitute houses. Plus that I see no advantage of them when all is black. Cos there is nothing to reflect? It will only absorb more darkness.
(is ok, no worries, it is hard to guess if there is a male or female player behind the screen when they all look like the big hairy bearded quake dolls with huge boots)

Another thing that springs to my mind.... if you really DO hang mirrors every 666 cm, you could put same sized little paintings in between as replacement for a mirror here and there.
(gosh im better in salestalks then fragging)

I like the idea of the dripping blood, though I think it'd look better if it "dripped" up, instead of down. (: And the idea of the mirrors is to reflect the other mirrors, so the viewer eventually goes insane, of course!

No offence sweetie, but by decorating your room like that you already have the label insane.... Hahahahahahaha. Anyways, yeh, dripping up would be cool.

Would the insanity-level be lowered if I decorated like that, but replaced one of the mirrors with one of your paintings instead then? (;

Its called Kingfisher in english, ijsvogel (ice bird) in dutch. The poor thing flew up against my window and fell on the floor all dizzy and confused. So when i carefully lifted it off its back it crawled on my finger and squeezed its little claws around it and not let go for half an hour. I think it just needed that time to recover from the shock again. Im glad its all ok though. At some point it flew away again.
