Although I thought I was finished, I still worked a little bit more on the wood. I just can't make a decent photo of it. (what else is new) So ehm, anyways, here it is. War of Woods, the really finished version.

Are there people here that use drawing tablets? I have been looking and reading around because I thought it would be ideal for sketching and doodling and trying out new ideas without having to waste tons of papers, piles of pens and handsfull of erasers. Plus that for illustrating works it would be handy too. Can be glued to the book and the printer can worry for how to get it out of the machine. Hmm. After reading all and everything there is about those thingies and as far as I could all follow and/or understand it, I think I am attracted most to the Wacom Intuos3 A4 USB. And that's.... well. I don't know. The price of around 500 euro made me swallow a few times. So..... Is there anyone around using drawingtablet and can tell me how it feels, works, and maybe have a different (cheaper!!) brand then that Wacom Intuos3 A4 USB?

The Wacom's are definitely worth the money, I'm sure you will enjoy it. Especially if you have Photoshop and or Painter.
Check out http://forums.cgsociety.org/ and they should have a stickied thread there somewhere on Tablets and where to get started with digital painting.

Ã’k thank you very much, I will check out the link. I dont have photoshop or painter. Does that mean I will have to learn to work with programs as that as well? That does make a drawing tablet a lot less attractive for me.

:/ Super, I'm scared of that. And you know it. I am not technical enough. But getting a tablet....hm..... hmm....hmmmm I should, maybe, one day.

I'm doing the chickenfish (or whatever its supposed to be) in inks now. It is looking so cool already, and so much better then just pencil. The picture is a bit big so I just put a link to it here. http://carolmulder.web-log.nl/photos/uncategorized/chickenfishinks.jpg

Hmm... you do not need PS or Painter to use a tablet, ArtRage 2 is a small and inexpensive programme -- there's even a free version which has some limitations however. Check their art gallery too.

Funky. For some reason it reminds me of the fish in Legend of Kyrandia III, which by the way, I think you'll like. It's really twisted, just as you like it. ;-)

Hehehe, I not know Kyrandia's Legend, but if its twisted it might be funny. The waterslide looks like fun!

Once upon a time, it was a nice calm quiet evening where I played some Quake, enjoying all the dead bodies falling around me, when someone suddenly started talking to me about my drawings. "Hey," he said, "why don't you make a dragon with something sticking out of him eating a baby!". (I will not guarantee for 100% on an exact quote here, but it was something like that.) I said "Hmm... that's quite an interesting idea actually." Then the guy said "LOL, you sick fuck." Errrrrr..... as if I came up with that idea.... pffff...... Anyways, it was worthy enough for a doodle, as above, and I did start sketching it out in big. But since I actually have to finish some other bits first, I am not sure I will continue quickly on this one. We will see, we will see.
