Another stencil. No idea about what I'll use ut for. I've made it too feeble and thin, so's it won't cover the
'white' (unpainted) areas properly. To work around this I gently glued the wobbly thing to my surface,
did the painting/drawing quickly, and carefully removed the stencil before the glue had time to set. I tried
it with white acrylic paint, a soft pencil, a black ballpoint pen, a pink marker pen, and 'gold' and 'silver' pens
- all with interesting results. The figure itself is 8x12 cm, and the stencil paper is 15 cm wide

The nun-head thing, now glaze fired. I might repair the glitches and add some
details with oil paint, I haven't decided yet. The back plate bent in the first firing
and there's some glaze glitches, so I won't sell it. It'll stay here I thinks.

That looks totally cool.
And actually, all the bits and bobs what you think of repairing...... leave it allone! It gives it a nice "vintage" touch in my opinion.
Rub a bit of brown bee wax over it or shoe polish and all is cool.

Sure, I could keep the gritty surface - the glaze has bubbles in the surface, close to it looks
a lot like the black rust protection paint people use on iron fences and such.

Shoe polish? Got some black and brown shoe polish paste. It will stick to the stoneware?

Yeh, if the stoneware is still rough and able to soak a bit up, it will give it a patinated look. Go for the brown, and very very very little, otherwise you rub it all hmm.... closed... it has to stay "airy" a bit. Just as if it has been on the wall of a smokey pub for hundred of years. It doesnt have to be all smooth, just the old smoked and dirty look. would fit it perfectly I think.
But hey, that's just my idea. Don't want to force you to anything if you don't think that would give a nice touch to it. But if you are not planning to sell it anyways, you haven't got anything to lose either. Worth a try, to see how it works out.
I would use a soft clothe just wrapped around my finger and rub it on another surface first untill its almost dry and giving off hardly any colour anymore. Then it's "safe" to use on your stone i think.

I fiddled a little bowl thingie in the meanwhile. Sometimes it's so hard to stop fiddling.

I tried the shoe polish - looks neat. The nun's eyes don't look so zombie-ish. The camera's batteries died though

Here's how it looks now. There's gold and silver and glitter on it as well as the shoe polish. The blitz makes the colours look strange and stark, I see. I'll be adding some black varnish later

Why not? I was thinking of trying my hand at bathroom and kitchen tiles with heads coming out of them -
perhaps as towel hooks and suchlike. Or just decoration? I could make some rude tiles. People love rude things

Yeh I'm thinking of doing my own doors too. I have no idea why I have boring normal doors when I make the most gorgeous doors everywhere else.....
Cool. Good plan. Got a whole spring to come with lots of rainy days and those can be filled with ultimate door painting sessions. All good.
