i was bored and decided to make a little mod.
hope someone might like it

This quick mod is for people that are tired of the old ways of fragging and want to exercise new ones
A new scoring system is introduced (instead of the classic fragging system) as follows:

* kills with RL, LG: 0 frags
* kills with GL, SG, SSG: 1 frag
* kills with SNG: 2 frags
* kills with NG: 3 frags
* kills with AXE: 10 frags

* spawnfrags (any weapon): +1 frag (added to weapon score)
* telefrag: 2 frags
* squish: 5 frags
* telefrag deflect: -10 frags for victim

As you can clearly see the aim of this mod is to encourage players in using lower tier weapons to gain frags. Weaken enemies with powerful weapons and finish them off with low tier ones for scoring.
The damage table wasn't touched in any way, nor any other weapons specifics.
I recommend playing it with a fixed fraglimit

This was made with a basic concept in mind and with minimal coding skills at hand. Don't ask for fancy features!

sng shouldn't give 3 frags, it should give 1 frag, maybe 2

sg should give more than 1 frag, perhaps 2 there as well?

and ng sucks ass it should give 4 frags

and I'm not sure about that spawn frag score?

thanks for your preliminary thoughts Empezar

- the shotguns are instant hit, so i think they're pretty cheap to finish off an opponent with them. that's why they add only 1 frag.

- nailguns are (slow-ass) projectile thus harder to hit, especially on medium to far distances.. so that's why they have 3 frags.

- spawn frags with any weapons are awarded +1 frag to make the game more alert and diverse.

it would be cool if this little mod would be included in future KTX version, so people won't have to make a separate server for this only. you just join a KTX server and turn this on, but let's see if more people like this idea
anyway it would be really easy to implement this in KTX

yeah i agree

i still think sng should give less frags

sng is a FAR better weapon than ng is, and with quad it becomes a killing machine

Spawn telefrag should decrease the telefragged player 2 frags instead of awarding the player telefragging, whereas pent deflection should award the person that deflects (logically).
Agreed with Empezar, make SNG give 2 frags instead.

This sounds interesting

goqsane: I believe that's a skill he's trying to promote, to be able to read your opponents health and strike with SG/AXE at the right moment.

*updated first post with version 0.0.6*

as for spawn telefrag giving -2 frags to victim (instead of +2 to attacker): it is very hard, for me at least, to make the mod differentiate between normal telefrags and spawn telefrags. also the difference is too small to make the change reasonable

@goqsane: as i said weapon damages are left untouched + what molgrum said
