Oh my... Wow... Seriously RaRe, those are the best textures I've seen in Quake! I'm still in disbelief. Are you going to do the Rome and Maya sets? I have my fingers crossed in hopes that you do. It looks like you have a base for them already, having finished a few textures for Ultrav. All hail RaRe, master of texturing!

Just as a little more encouragement, here are some popular maps that use the Egypt/Maya/Rome themes: gmdm10 chesdm1 croctear rcmdm8 vendetta misdm11b osiris unddm2 aztech jndm6 pkeg1 primedm atlantis daydream damaul7 efdm3 debello There are many more, I'm sure. This is just all I could think of at the moment. There are also a crap-load of Singleplayer maps that use these themes, and of course the Rogue Mission pack. Like I said, they are widely used. Let me know if you want download links to any of these.

I was thinking maybe an abandoned building feel to dm7. What you guys think, obviously alot of textures need to be replaced in the screen its just to give you guys an idea, if you like it then coolies if not then ill think of something else

Looking pretty nice, but if you were going for a abandoned look there..I don't think you got that one down.
Do you have a problem with doing texturesets using your textures with some editing?

I dont understand your last sentence Falzzi. Obviously i cant change the map to look more like a abandon building, i do the best i can with what the map maker has done, its hard to come up with texture ideas to suit the theme. I figure that an abandon building/site would have dimond slip plating on the ground, the classic old red bricks, lots of rusting metal, cracked concrete etc, and thats what i have tried to do. Obviously i wouldnt do a carpet texture outside of the building, because well, that would be abit silly, alot of the textures are used in other parts of the map aswell, so if i used a certain texture somewhere it might not suit something else. If you have any ideas that you think might improve the set, then please by all means say them, it would help me greatly in making this new set.
Thanks

Do you have a problem with doing texturesets using your textures with some editing? I was thinking about using some of your textures on a new map made by ed3. Maybe changing colors, addin / removing stuff. I can have him add you in the credits if you want Obviously i cant change the map to look more like a abandon building, i do the best i can with what the map maker has done, its hard to come up with texture ideas to suit the theme. Yeah, the problem was that I didn't test the set in-game, just looked at that shot. Looks alot more abandoned (and cool) in-game. The thing that bothered me the most was that the bricks texture wasn't too oldish imo. Keep up the good work!

DM7 textures looking good. I still can't get over how nice those Egyptian textures are. I think we found what type of textures you are best at. This is why I keep begging you to do the Maya and Rome sets, because I honestly don't think anyone else can do them quite like you can.

Im acturally trying to do some maya textures, they are a little different, im just trying to get a feel for the whole maya thing, some of them are a little harder then i expected. Ill keep you posted on the progress Falzzi you can use the textures anyway you want once they are done, all my textures are free to use for people, aslong as your keep the nfo with the textures or include it or add credits etc.

Those UltraV textures are great. I compared and contrasted with the originals and that is some very outstanding work. -------- Is that a roll of toothpicks in your pocket or are you just happy to see Sassa?
