Hi Guys
I'm trying to get back to playing quake. Unfortunately I can't because of problem with all -gl clients.
I get major screen corruption (Fuzzy/Garbled).

My spec is:
Windows 64 Vista Ultimate

ATI 1900xtx with Catalyst 7.4 ( I tried 7.3 and 7.2 ).

Any ideas what could I turn on/off in drivers/game to fix it ?

hmm. it seems qw clients are not able to run with vista properly

it seems QW clients not suppor windows vista at all =:-\
you have to waint until one of developers install windows vista as default OS

only problem with vista and ezquake as far as I know is that you can't use the server browser. It's a ping method issue.

Yupp, I'm about to come back if i sort this. And some new servers with me.

i think its these new gfx cardz with vista what causes teh problems.. or is it coz 64-bit(?) dunno.. :|

Catalyst 7.4 are newest, and tried couple others and they don't work as well.

The 64bit OSes is unsupported too. None of developers have such OS installed as default OS.
For serverbrowser under Vista... you should try -nosackraw cmdline option, and also if it possible - give ezQuake process ability to use RAW sockets.
ezQuake uses ICMP pings by default, this reques RAW sockets which are usally depends on pretty high access rights on the host (root for linux, administrator for windows). The UDP pings seems to be pretty inaccurate, at least in our implementation.

Gl_ztrick 0 fixed just that problem for me.
Working very well in Vista now.

Meh. If it does the trick (pun intended), what's the harm? Are there any other solutions that are better then?

No I meant turning it off is good... gl_ztrick 0 solves the problem ... aka if you have it on, it screws stuff up.
