ok man, u are right. I never participated before on a tourney as an organizer. So I do not see exactly how much work is behind of these. But... I would gladly help everywhere i could in a tourney like this!

I could vote, peppe is not an admin, it's like askin' renzo for vip to wargames, I'M SURE U ALL WANT IT, BUT ALL OF U JUST DON'T QUALIFY. He is lifeless, he that is flawless.

They don't qualify for what? Running an rookie tournament?
Imho the time for ignition is not right, mostly because it's summer, and it's also been a long time since there was a "real" 1on1 tournament for the regular players, I would expect a lot of fakers to sign up.

Psykrush ) so the solution to this is just to play 1 map or spect a little bit the names which are brand new on the signups... i don't think that there would be a huge number of players with brand new name

peppe could do it! (sorry for making drunken posts(sry 2 u peppe), I have no memory of them ) and for the faking issue, lets just trust the scene not to fake and ruin tourneys for those who want to play and test their skill when was the last duel tourney where a lot of fakers appeared? He is lifeless, he that is flawless.

You don't need a spec vip these days thanks to virtually unlimited specslots by QTV. Admins (people that help me to run the servers and check if everything is ok) are quite the different story.

Urm, I have about 9 or so years Quake/QuakeWorld experience but I haven't played for....oo....2-3 years now. Would I be eligible for this, seeing as I probably couldn't hit the backside of a barn?

Looks like it could be a good time to start one. Does it matter if it coincides with EQL? I ain't got no time for this jibber jabber fool

duel comps are independent from the 4on4 stuff i'd say.

there might be a reason to run ignition maybe 2 months before starting a 4on4 league and hope that some of the new players will try some 4on4. But not really that important. Might as well just launch it.

Looks like February is going to be a busy month. Possibly all of EQL, QWDL, Nations Cup, Don King's 2on2 tour and Ignition running concurrently.
It might be a bit much, but this, and the fact that I saw 3 to 4 simultaneous 4on4 games running for about 2 hours yesterday, means activity is bouncing back!

If this is really supposed to be a 'rookie' tournament, then why is a guy like 'Solo' allowed?
I'm gonna straighten out something:
Even I know that Solo has been playing QW for longer then allowed for a tourney as this. I know him from Elvis ffa and have seen him on 1on1 servers too for quite some time when I looked in server scanners. I've often deleted my quake folder and when I put it back months later, the guy was still to be seen on servers. He's no rookie. Sure, in comparison with Milton or Reppie he is, but certainly not in comparison with a true Rookie.
Besides only letting players play against eachother and decide their skilllevel on the results of those matches, you could also tell people to be able to beat frogbot level 10 in all 1on1 maps before you enter such a tourney. Or that you can NOT enter the Rookie tourney, depending on what kind of tourney you want to have. And yes, I know bots aren't human players, but still I think it's a good idea.
