Hello quakeworld! I hope I put this introduction in the right place.

A little about me....................

My name is Johnny and I am a certified Ford/Volvo tech and live in the US. I used to be a Heavy Duty Diesel tech, but too many "near death" incidents made me change to the automotive field.

I enjoy "Team Fortress" games and started playing when Q3F2.2 was released. I helped out with the Enemy Territory Fortress mod by setting up http://www.planetetf.com and recruiting new players. I was brought here from a link about zelTF and decided to join the community since I love "Fortress" games.

Recently, I opened a new site to include all Team Fortress games including TFC, TF2, Fortress Forever, Quake Fortress, ETF, etc. The site just opened this week and can be found at http://www.teamfortressxtreme.com and I am still working on improving the site.

I hope to make a few friends here and learn a few things.

Thank you for the warm welcome and you are welcome zel. Good job on the project so far. I have been playing online now and then, but have to search the servers to make sure I get the right one.

QWTF is really new to me actually. Like I said, I got into gaming when Q3F2.2 came out and that was in 2002 and then I moved on to ETF because I prefer "Quake Fortress" over "Team Fortress Classic" because of how fast the gameplay is. Games like Battlefield Series kinda bore me because I would rather get 20-30 frags in the time it takes me to walk across the desert polishing my Thompson.

I am still trying to learn all the older Quake versions available pre Q3F. I know about zelTF, ezQuake, and FQuake, but still trying to decifer what games need what to play and what each games current version is. I guess if I hang out here long enough I will figure it all out.

There're atleast 3 different versions of TF for QW; Teamfortress 2.9, OzTF and megaTF (which is dead). TF 2.9 is popular in scandinavia, portugal and in russia. OzTF in NA, Australia & New Zealand and Brazil (allthought Brazilians play 2.9 too).

Here's a serverlist of online TF-servers atm: http://www.quakeservers.net/quakeworld/servers/t=tf/

As we see, there're some NA TF 2.9 servers, I don't know if there're any active players though.

I think you should really try QWTF if you like fast gameplay. I've played QWTF for like 7 years. I've also played Q3TF and ETF Quake Fortress. I got really bored of those both since they were superslow. In the end TF is all about running running and running, it gets really annoying if you're superslow and you know you've to run to enemy base 100 times. Anyhow, TF got boring when I played more DM.
