okey, I just talked to him and he is changing job so he has to put the servers down or move them, dunno what pings we will get. this is the email: hi,
online again. Due to a job change, I might have to shut them down permanently - or move them to another ISP by the end of this month.
Regards, rivmin. I will try to put online some permanent Dk servers tonight...

Well got some servers up. admins are Renzo and me (sassa) intarweb.dk:27501 intarweb.dk:27502 intarweb.dk:27503 routing might still be strange to Denmark so try with qizmos. try your pings and see how it is

Two Qizmos that give playable ping to intarweb: troopers.fi:30000 and qw.speciell.org:28000. If you have 25ms in either of those you'll probably get 38ms at intarweb.

yeah something wrong with the pl's hopefully we can solve that in time We couldn't. And because of the negativity I saw I don't even want to try anymore and I'm sure Nomad had it enough too. Thanks for Sassa and Nomad for trying to contribute for the scene, even if it was a no go in the end.

Dunno how good you all ping to xs4all, but perhaps it's a viable alternative?
clanwars.xs4all.nl is the adres.

Thanks for Sassa and Nomad for trying to contribute for the scene, even if it was a no go in the end. Hey, Like I posted before in the news - before it was deleted. I hope you guys don't take the negativity to be aimed at you. We all appreciate those in our scene who are working for the scene doing what they know how to do. People are simply upset because they are losing such a great place (wargamez). If we can't have wargamez anymore because of changing circumstances, then so be it, a big loss no doubt. I however don't feel that people taking this loss hard and projecting it a bit to the follower should be considered as negativity towards any of you ppl behind this new server :/ I'm sorry if our comments made you feel like you were trying to do good for a bunch of assholes that don't deserve it.

The problem lied with the stupid PL. Even Nomad lagged from his LAN so there has to be something problematic with his machine. I even tried using different qw server software (qwsv/fteqwsv) but the pl persisted. As the server was Nomad's production class machine running mail server and a bit more, we really can't ask of him to make ANY system wide changes there.
Ping problems we could have figured out, but this pl was something different. Also I hated seeing people joining when Nomad was on the server too and calling it "shit server". I'm sure he didn't feel appreciated at that point.

I'm fucking sure the admin of wargamez feel appreciated for being bashed so heavily like from you.. rofl Rule #5: Before you post please ask yourself "am I contributing something worthwhile to this thread?". If the answer is no, please do not post. This is your first warning. Also, "I'm fucking sure" players didn't like your shitacting on wargamez the other day.

"Also, "I'm fucking sure" players didn't like your shitacting on wargamez the other day."
not contributing much to the conversation after you snapped the fucker with the rule fromf the forums.
but is wargames the center of all games? if they won't be back as they were we can go to THE SECRET PLAN B) which would be the one involving home servers and decider being decided with "cmd rnd".. which would be hardcore just like it should be - play your own map with any ping you want OR force your opponents to play any ping you wish them to play, and of course exceptions allowed if there are (swedes) (or a dane) cheating about the rule

.dk is the best country where central europe gets good pings against .se and .fi. I know you don't care about minorities since all players and all admins are from .se and .fi, but realize you are killing the scene.

Is a .dk server killing the scene?

I would like to ventilate my profound support for the headstrong people that are selflessly striving to contribute to the scene in a time when it is needed the most. Losing the Wargamez.dk servers is a hard setback for all of us, considering the great value they have had for international games, foremostly 4 on 4, but also 1 on 1 and 2 on 2. Although there are plenty of other servers around, it need not be explicitly stated that the Wargamez.dk servers need some kind of a replacement, given their unique status as an international battleground, providing excellent pings to most European Quakers.
It is my opinion that every attempt at resolving the current situation should be met by acclaim and constructive evaluation, not blunt criticism.
