The G2400WD has an advantage over the G2400W model in that it has over drive(AMA in options menu) which forces the LCD over update, which makes it feel faster. All I can tell you is it is very smooth. It is still a very fast panel regardless. Maybe I'll hook my CRT back up along with the LCD and test them later, but so far the LCD has been so fast I've felt no need. I used to play 150hz and 154fps. At first I had bad aim but I think that was just me adjusting to the huge screen as much as anything else. I don't really ever play QW anymore just once every month or two but I've been POVing to test the screen lag, etc.
I hate to say this but looking at Hell's scores vs skill 5 bots maybe he isn't the best judge of monitor feel. I'm not that great a POVer and I can do 45-50%+ and 150+ damage frags vs skill 5.

That's true, I never was much of lg-er.
But you do understand that I used fbca1.01kt for testing and not lgc2, don't you?

According to this website: There are two AOC models that got no input lag at all and no delay compared to a CRT.....

don't know how mutch true is this though.... i'm willing to get a new TFT.. and if that's the case ( that being true ) i'll most likely blast one of those..

So my 85Hz LCD is just 60Hz?
Afraid so.
We logically came to ask ourselves about the optimum frequency of normal LCDs. Most support 60 or 75 Hz. We did a blind test of 6 monitors at the two frequencies. In the first case, there is theoretically one image every 16.7 ms and for the other this figure is 13.3 ms. Compared to our example of increasing from 50 to 100 Hz, we should logically get closer to the reaction time of 100 Hz at 75 Hz with our LCD monitors….but this isn´t what we found.
We found the following:
# 2 didn´t support 75 Hz and we would have a black or unstable image.
# 2 said that they supported 75 Hz, but when we measured the time between images we realised that they were in fact at 60 Hz.
# Finally, the last two really ran at 75 Hz…partially. In fact the monitors really displayed four images and then skipped the fifth. The sixth one was displayed normally. When we looked at the results, we realised that this skipped 5th image was to resynchronise the monitor at 60Hz. In fact, it really displayed 4 images in 67 ms whether it was at 60 or 75 Hz.
But to be honest manufacturers told us that none of the current LCDs would be able to support 75 Hz.

If you have digital camera and can hook up CRT along with LCD you can check how much frame shots differ on some clock like
this.
If difference will be 15-16ms, it means it's effectively 60Hz.
Please don't insult us with references that are almost 2 years old using monitors way older than that. I'm not saying that there hasn't been a lot of smoke and mirrors + technical inaccuracies concerning hz and ms, but please bring us something that is tested and true currently. And yes, my 75hz 3ms feels better in qw than 60hz or 85hz... ;<

I'm not, really.. since I get all the time that 2ms is equal to 5ms in pratically, and that input lag can really show how fast a TFT can be or not.. so i kinda figure thata TFT with no input lag and 5ms would probably be as near as it could to a CRT, other than a 2ms with considerable input lag.

http://www.behardware.com/articles/6...-3rd-wave.html Here is some info about input lag in games. http://www.digitalversus.com/duels.php?ty=6 I just compared a 5ms Acer with my 2ms Samsung 2232BW and the 5ms has better response times! Presently I have a LG W2252TQ and the Samsung 2232BW(CMO screen) and the LG is much better on this test. I'll be bringing the Samsung back to Best Buy for a full refund and keeping the LG for now. The only drawback to my LG is the 700:1 static contrast but I booted these two monitors up in horizantal span mode (one virtual monitor displayed on both screens and and played ArmA (night scenes) ,COD4 (night scenes) and Swat 4 and I saw everything just as well on the LG even though it has less static contrast ratio than the Samsung! I was able to get the Samsung color calibrated so that the non Samsung panel inside wasn't a prob but this input lag is important since I am a FPS gamer! This is about it on my monitor adventure. The Samsung was returned and I discovered the LG that I bought last week at Best Buy was on sale today so they price matched 54 dollars back to me today making my final cost 269.00 for the LG Flatron W2252TQ! The less spent while they perfect this technology the better!
