Hey guys
I know that the topic doesn't sound nice but i need help.
I want to buy a new gfx and i'm thinking about two cards ATI 2900xt or GeForce8800gtx. Now i know that ATI doesn't like qw but it's a lot cheaper then 8800gtx. So maybe someone here has an ATI 2900 and can tell me if i's any good in qw??

This shouldn't come as a surprise. You don't need anything remotely as good as those two cards to run Quakeworld at a satisfactory framerate. Best advice I can give you is to look up benchmarks (eg. vga charts over at Tom's Hardware) and look for the best bang for the buck.

Don't waste that much money, buy a radeon 1950Pro! Runs all dx9 games perfectly and by the time we get some decent dx10 (long long way to go) you can buy a new card that runs dx10 smoothly.

Let me clarify this shortly. You are suppose to be waiting dx10.1 cards, if you are into waiting. It will be new standard very soon. It will be included in Windows Vista SP1.
