* Go to “start”, click “run” copy + paste this line below
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe xvidvfw.dll,Configure
* Then click “other options” and unclick the “display encoding status” (located at the bottom)

That's only if the vxid codec brings up a window, which isn't the case here
Anyways, another problem I'd like to note, I can't use demo_capture_mp3 1 because it keeps saying "Can't find ACM decoder." I've googled and downloaded ACM encoders but none have worked. If anyone knows of a working one or a way around this, it would be greatly appreciated. My short clips are really big because of the uncompressed sound. Again, any help would be great :>

PlaZmaZ you may try re-encoding the entire movie (with VirtualDub for example). The program allows to compress sound and video streams, Unfortunately in my case compressing sound makes video out of sync, but I haven't tried hard to fix the problem or use different settings/codecs/programs.
P.S. I'd recommend you to download so called "codec pack" and install it, instead of keeping the numerous single codecs. Try "klite codec pack".
