I've recently fiddled and came to cl_yawspeed 597, +left and +forward to prove: the maximum acceleration/speed possible while grounded - 494.5u/s, the rate of rotation required to accelerate to this speed -cl_yawspeed 597 , whether varying cl_sidespeed:cl_forward(/back)speed ratio can scale this acceleration or whether it just changes the direction of movement relative to viewing direction (only the latter is true).
I was also able to make a script that allows bunny hopping using the keyboard only, but speed of about 600 is the limit due to the required rate of rotation being a function of acceleration (as well as the converse), or in layspeak, the rate of rotation required to accelerate furthur varies (decreases) with your velocity. yeah ok you know this already .
I propose that those people intimate with the physics code model this relationship and use it to implement some bots that can bunny hop. yeah ok its fantasy .
