By many, this would be considered cheating.
Saying that, I have no idea if it is possible and my guess is that client devs would work actively to prevent it, if it is.

It would cause you more harm than good to get used to any timer scripts because these are disallowed in every single league. Use the gameclock (cl_clock 1 I think) and notice what time you pick up items, do the math in your head and go back when it is time for the next spawn. Here are some respawn times to help you along: Armors, health = 20 seconds Weapons, ammo = 30 seconds Quad = 1 minute Pentagram, ring of shadows = 5 minutes
Practice makes perfect! ---Where can you see lions? Only in kenya! Come to kenya we've got lions.

No problem to make start-stop-reset feet pedal and put display under monitor You do that for every single item you want to time (RL, Shaft, Quad, Pent, Ring and perhaps some of the armors on DM3 in a 4on4) and then come back and see if it would be as useful as the script you suggest here. Powerup timers are still used in Q2 (CTF at least i think) and in my opinion that has ruined the game to such an extent that it really disgusts me. EditAnd no, cheating isn't when someone use a stop watch - it's when the computer starts doing something automatically for you that greatly improves your focus on the other parts of the game. Either you're a god and good at everything, or you'll have to practicepracticepractice and perhaps even then sacrifice some stuff in your play to excel in other areas. www.facebook.com/QuakeWorld

I made this about a year ago for fun. It's a really simple script that you can use with the 'packet' command. Just start the script using 'ruby quakestopwatch.rb' (yes, it requires ruby) and use the packet command to start countdowns. You start countdowns by sending 'name_time', eg. 'quad_30' to start a countdown with name 'quad' for 30 seconds. You will also get a message 5 seconds before the countdown expires and one when it has expired. Example (in the console): /packet localhost:1337 quad_30 (... 25 seconds later ...) 127.0.0.1:1205: print quad in 5. (... 5 seconds later ...) 127.0.0.1:1205: print quad spawned! Note: This is the equivalent of having several stop watches that can do countdowns. There is no *automatic* powerup timing here.

bad thing I'd still use my cheat angelina for all the team members to use and sync BTW, in Q2 everybody cheats with .wav files with a countdown upon taking a powerup, that's pretty funny :E http://slip.4.pl/ - unblocking myspace facebook firewall

I recorded own .wav files in q2 for my clan to use them. Some of them still uses those files. TEAM QUAD [need nothing] shaga loses another friend shaga discovers blast radius QUAD

hehe don't bring this to qw. timing items is a skill obtained with experience. once u have it you wont need timers - use the force never argue with an idiot. they'll bring you back to their level and then beat you with experience.
