change your conwidth or conheight a bit, by about 50 or so, and it'll vanish. thanks m8 it really helped but i just needed to change vid_conheight from 1024 to at least 1023, finally bloom without that disturbing black line

\o/ Outstanding job!
"qw:// protocol support - the client can easily be configured to open qw:// links that will connect you to any given server immediately"
Is my favorite! .qw + qw:// FTW!

After using this client during 2on2 I noticed a few things:
-My fps dropped by 10-30. -Mouse feeling odd and acting strange. (especially after I changed my reso from 640x to 512x)
I understand that progress is good and inevitable, so the lack of fps isn't much of a deal anyways. I'll just tweak my config a bit.

to me 1.9 is by far the best client yet

it Seems like someone reduced the texture size limit in this release. one of my weapon textures in TF causes "EzQuake 1.9 Stable" to crash to the desktop with the error: "GL_Upload8: image too big"
i have opened a bug report for this. it would be a lame thing to do on purpose. It Takes A Tough Man To Make A Tender Rocketjump

ezQuake never needed a security module. and then... Security module for 1.9 might be published later. ?? O_o ?? What's there to wonder? ezQuake as a client does not require security module to make it run, it's that simple. If league admins want some sort of anti-cheat security module for model/sound/whatever checks, ezQuake can support such, so it also can be published later. Think of it as an extension or plugin. Please read my first post! Cause I never asked or stated that ezQuake needs a security module to run, I asked if a security module would be released or not for this version. The subject became confused when JohnNy_cz said that ezQuake never needed one. What is not entirely true. EzQuake does not need a security module to run, but till the last stable version (1.8), it needed one to be acepted as a valid client in leagues, being it a plugin, addon, or whatever you call it. So why not just answer my question with a simple "there will not be a security module until a request from leagues"! Much more simple, fair and not confuse. https://tinyurl.com/qwbrasil - QuakeFiles

Tip for multi core CPU owners who experience small screenfreezes and general choppyness: Try setting "threaded optimization: off" in video card drivers (nvidia). "Auto" was fine for 1.8.3 as it stayed off, but with 1.9 it gets turned on with bad results, atleast in my case.

has anyone gotten v1.9 to work on mac os x (leopard)? i tried using a "fresh install" and an nquake install. ezq just quits before even starting, telling me it quit unexpectedly. the same happens with v1.9 beta 1, which i am sure used to work for me. so the error is probably with me. but what the hell could i have done?

I have it running just fine on 10.5.2. But then again it was me who compiled the release so I have lots of funky packages installed on my system. Perhaps I screwed up and there is something missing. Is this X86 or PPC? Have you copied the paks over to the directory or did you searched for them at first start? (I think that one might not be working correctly)
Is there a crash log? Do you think we can read something out of it? :-)

btw, i still can't get the console to work on my swedish keyboard.
i have to bind toggleconsole to ctrl or something, and even then i can't get it to work exactly like the tilde does (i have to press escape to get rid of the console).

There is a command in 1.9 to get US-layot on keyboard. Something like in_builtinkeymap, try setting it to 1.

Ok, I introduced jpeg support for Mac recently. Seems like the problem is the same we had width 15xx back then. Perhaps oldman can give give me hint how to fix the search path for this lib to the correct location. I will take a look at it eventually.

You still haven't fixed the flickering bugs with the old sbar, it still looks like shit. Bring back the OLD status bar!

Sometimes ez says
alias <name> <command>: create or modify an alias aliaslist: list all aliases
Is there a way to know which command (line) in config caused error message? Some sort of debug mode?

/developer 2
But that could be something related to stuff servers push to clients when connecting, I've seen it few times too.

hi,
I have a macbook pro, with leopard 10.5.4, i've just installed ezquake 1.9 and noticed that most of the vid_* commands are missing.. like vid_restart, vid_vsync, etc.
what happend? any workaround to make these things work?
any help would be appreciated!
thx

vid_vsync is vid_wait on mac. (dunno about the name mismatch - perhaps it was renamed to vid_vsync later on but this changed was missed for mac).
ingame resolution change is imo not supported on mac. thats why you get a resolution selection screen on startup. this might change in the future.. or may not :-)
for your input issues please take a look at http://ezquake.sourceforge.net/docs/?command-line#nomultithreadedgl
