I don't use a mouse, I concentrate and move the crosshair by sheer willpower

I can't be exact atm but I would guess my 360 turn requires something like 3-4cm Sucky lg in povs but in normal games seems to be quite stable 28-38 depending on game and gametyp atm... and same sens for all weapons. I get a stressful feeling when I read those 15cm plus. Sounds like going to the gym

Interesting results. It looks like 15-19cm is a sweet spot. I think 20+ cm requires too much work in Quakeworld. I tried 23cm for a few duels and just couldn't turn fast enough. Back to 19

I see dead people. cl_deadbodyFilter you all use extremely high sens, i can turn around jsut by flicking the wrist.

it's all in the wrist and if its not in the wrist, its in the wiggles

what's your wiggle sensitivity, Buurvrouw?

I guess somewhat the same as yours, since I can turn around too with the wrist, if I have to.

we should also have a ' your mouse and pad setup' topic.. i sure wonder a lot about some players such as Kovaak, Kev, Griffin, Dag .. setup..

Well I just fixed my Lachesis by using single colour pad (yeah what a fix lol) and now using 20cm/360. Seems good. Also played with 23cm for a bit but its kinda too low.

about 21cm for a 360, with MX510 + no name cloth pad.
I'm planning to buy MX518 and some huge ass pad so that I can decrease my sens a bit more

6 cm for a 360°... which is sometimes too high but lots of fun in general.

14,5 is just about right for me.

just under 3 cm / 360. Just using my wrist so a high sens is essential for me. I would agree with the one who says you should play with as high sens as you can handle. The less often you have to lift your mouse, the better. The aim will come to you eventually anyway.

I'm currently experimenting with accel. I use 21cm as base sens + accel.

I used to play with 5cm and my lg always sucked. rl was good but lg sucked. I had to lower my sens a lot to get decent lg accuracy. Some people are just naturally talented I guess. I'm not one of those

I always seem to lower my sens just a bit time by time.

What I meant, was that ofc I also have this "standard" sensitivity for myself, but when playing enough, I always seem to have this need to drop sens just a bit. For example: During 1 year period, my sens might lower from 3 to 2.5 (with same mouse settings ofc). Hence: I think the lowest sens possible is the best. ps. When you've had a long break from qw, how is your sens feeling? Surprisingly high or low? That defines your preference. In my case, after a break I feel my sens being too low.

I think the lowest the better, because with high sens you can react fast but not accurate, with low sens it takes a little ms more to react, but you dont miss, *efficiency > speed* works for me.
And about movements, you can get used to move really fast in low sens. Btw i know you can get used to aim good with high sens, but will be less accurate than a guy used to high sens. -> IMO "the quieter you become, the more you are able to hear"

The best players today have probably used the same sens for years and can do 180 degrees turns extremly accurate. However, theres a clear higher "potential" in having high sens. I don't say low sens user can't become good (BPS is a good example on that), but sooner or later a low sens will limit you compared to a high or relatively high sens user when its a matter of margins. Sometimes 1ms is enough to lose a fight and control of a map. I would not use me as an example here though, because I've barely used the same sens for a couple of months (at least without acceleration, since I played alot with SetPoint not being aware that it actually caused acc). But players like reppie who probably have used the same high sens for a couple of years, can do things you almost don't belive possible, where I think BPS might never reach that state because his sens limits him even though he is a really good player. Well, this load of bullshit I just wrote can basically be shoveled into this: The higher sens you can handle, the more potential you have as a player.

Actually you're right. When I watch bps on aerowalk it feels like he is struggling to turn fast enough in some cases.

Rikoll: the problem is, more than 80% players use low sens, so statistically the best players would use high sens. The only 'great' player with low sens is bps, and he is not the best, but i think he is able to do all moves and get higher lg% than reppie ;P Anyway is like comparing 100 players with high vs 10 players with low, 10 top ppl will be using high against 1 using low.
And btw if you miss a shot you lose more than 100ms (high sens) when in low sens if you take that 1ms aiming you shouldnt miss that shot. Anyway when you are used to low sens, you can aim really really fast. "the quieter you become, the more you are able to hear"
