The left ss looks alright, but the right one needs to be toned down. Too many colors, and too much rust I think.

Agreed, the right one is a bit over the top. The left one is absolutely perfect.

yeah, was too lazy to post here that it looked really bad ingame... but here's what i have now... http://www.kolumbus.fi/ruohis/temp/almost_finnished_b_models.jpg it's 1600x1200 so you can view the texture and detail better. thought this would be more quick than to render a 640x480 image of each and every model will do that when i release them... Anyways, as the filename sais it, they are almost finnished, 99% (unless you find something that needs to be changed) won't release them just yet, have to do some bugchecking and final tweaking. but yes, final chanse to give your suggestions if you want to se something a little bit different. (expect theese to be released during the wekend in md3 format with 512x512 png textures)

Why is the big health pack covered in rust and bullet holes? That makes it a lot less attractive (imho, in case peppe gets funny ideas). Teamplay is nothing. Aim is everything. OBEY YOUR AIM

that's because it's the small one, the big one is the other one, it just happens to be in front of it so it looks bigger, they are actually the same size

Ruohis, do the healthbox and mega have animation on the red bars? Are you also releasing lumas?

I think the boxes are missing some screws or (riveted) bolts on the edges. At least the nailboxes, shells and the mega have those on every edge. The small healthboxes have them on the corners and the rockets have them on top of the box. Would make them a bit more realistic. Without them the boxes have this lego-look. Don't make the bolts 3d, just add them to the textures. That would be great.
Beside this: great work, Ruohis. :-) Will definitely integrate the models in my lan-party quake-installer (to reanimate retired quakers) as long as they work with ezQuake. ;-) Keep up the good work.

What about a faithfull backpack model too? *uses his crazy voice* I'll model EVERYTHING!!!! ;D well not the monsters, but besides that *crazy voice* everything! :> Don't make the bolts 3d, just add them to the textures. That would be great.
Will definitely integrate the models in my lan-party quake-installer (to reanimate retired quakers) as long as they work with ezQuake. ;-) Yes they work in ezQuake... and yes, i'll see what i can do about the screws. And indeed, why i'm doing this, my friends are always telling me that quake is so old and the graphics look like a bunch of blocks. and i got tired of that heh, and even though i'm no top player i'm still the only one of my friends who play quake, so i'll bet they don't want to play against me no matter how good quake looks

quake maps looks like a bunch of blocks regardless of textures though, that's sad

Wow!
I mean..... WOW!!!!! Those screws rule. I really like them A LOT! :-)
Great work, man. Really, can't wait to test them. :-)
I hope they have the same sizes as the original boxes.
Again: excellent work, dude! And so lightning fast...

Ruohis said they will work in ezQuake. He posted some screenshots named "ezquake00*.jpg" earlier in this thread, so i believe he even uses ezQuake for testing.
Correct?
