Any good maps for practicing strafe-jump, etc?

A good strafe jump point is on E4M3, at the MH. If you can jump from one side to the other, w/o bunnying before, your strafe-jumps are fine. An easier one is the jump on DM2 at RA/MH. You should be able to jump back and forth w/o problems, i.e. becoming crispy in the lava below.

For bunny-hopping there are there are some special maps like speed, ztricks, ztricks2, etc, which you can easily get on most servers online - I'm not sure, whether they are included in nQuake already or not.

Anyway, you can (and should) prac strafe-jumps and bunnyhopping on nearly any map. Then you hang around on a server and wait for match to begin, esp. in pickup matches, just try to bunny around. In the end you'll need your bunnying skills on the actually played maps on not those "special maps".

slide series is ok too. Plus, they'll teach you what thing you can do with rapms.

I totally agree. E4M3 must be the best map to learn how to bunny-hop. It has lots of wide tunnels, big bends, as well as that jump pattah mentioned above. I mean the other suggestions made in this thread are "nice" too, but I don't feel the slide maps really allow you to simulate proper QW movement. The ztrick maps are okay too, but probably too advanced for someone who is only just getting the hang of QW.

My suggestions for now would be:
- E4M3 (make sure you're in the right part of the map though, since half of the map is fairly useless for movement practise)
- mvdsv-kg

Actually, after doing much racing on slide maps. Both aiming and bunny-hopping in normal games became worse. I remember that Daan and tGM told me they experienced the same thing.

How it affects your movement skill long-term, I don't know.
