heyas
i had reported long ago before the last ezquake stable was released
that bloom was not working right, and was "flickering" or "flashing" when i moved around
well, after messing with my setup today, i found that the cvar "r_bloom_alpha" effects this
now, im not sure if this is a bug in ezquake itself or possibly with my hardware, as it was not fixed in 1.9 when it was released
im wondering if anyone else sees this when r_bloom is on with r_bloom_alpha set to 0.5 or higher

Yeah the effect kinda "lives" when you move around, it's not really a bug.

i notice less flickering basically by diminishing the effect , r_bloom_intensity 0.3 ; r_bloom_alpha 0.3

alright! i have a solution to the problem. the problem is actually the cvar r_bloom_sample_size
im thinking that somewhere down the line, the default for this setting was set to 32
this setting is waaaay too low. and in the 1.9 release of ezquake, the default value was changed to 256 which is perfect
so, no more flickering
EDIT: ahh this setting always reverts back to 32 no matter what. it seems there really is a bug after all
