Maybe it makes sense to replace the trailer with a fragment from the full video?

Perhaps also do not use Youtube but put an own (good quality) version of the movie on the site. Like I did on quake1.de :F

youtube quality would be ok-ish if it was at least the 'high quality' version.
the problem is that the nquake version has the logo for nquake in it but whoever made it only did a low res version iirc.

The current trailer shows graphics, speed, movement, frags, action, simply everything from QW quite well.

it does, but it's in low res which is a bit unfortunate. i'd agree with OP that the current trailer is less than optimal.

It also has a 50 minute intro.... to quote my non-qw playing friend when pasting the link to the trailer "Movies with long intros suck!!!" (he didn't finish watching long enough until there was any action)...

if he doesn't have the patience for a movie
he won't have the patience to even learn how to play

I think that the promotional video needs to focus on the action and the core strengths of quakeworld.
The fragging segment from kyu.one (not the whole movie) gets me more excited than a short trailer.

I must say I also found the current nQuake trailer/teaser verry unsatisfying.

I think the one eksy just posted does the job much better, I'd use that one.
