looks like the default hud to me, try turning off the custom hud with scr_newhud 0

with scr_newhud 0 its classic hud. what l use in screenshot is new hud.

scr_centersbar 0
scr_drawvfrags 1
vid_conwidth 512 or greater

also scr_newhud 0 or 2

That happens when your scorebar, sbar, ibar and/or backtile is a transparent image.

Create black images and save them to textures/wad with those names. Back up any existing files. Hopefully that does it.

l do it with paint but nothing new hapens

You must select one or more sources and then update them by pressing 'space'.
If you like you could add the quakeservers.net masterserver to sources by pressing 'insert'.

Did it show up in serverbrowser as a valid server?

On sources tab:
- You have added the master server at quakeservers.net as you stated in the previous post.
- After you add it you must refresh/update the master server by highlighting it and pressing 'space'. After refreshing it, it should be around 300 servers in the 'Servs' column.

Now back to the servers tab you should be able to refresh all the servers by pressing 'space'. You should see a progession bar 'Pinging server/ Getting infos'.
- If you still don't get any servers listed you should check your settings on the option tab so that not all the 'Server filters' are on.
