I'm new to the Quake scene, and I was wondering which one I should use? Ezquake seems really nice since the graphics are improved, but NQuake on the other hand gives me everything I need?

ezQuake is Quakeworld client.
nQuake is a package with everything you need (except for pak1.pak) to play Quakeworld and ezQuake is the client included in this package.

"nQuake or ezQuake" is not really a valid question. You see, nQuake includes "everything you need to play Quake", which essentially is the Quake shareware and a Quake client. The client included in nQuake is ezQuake, so your choice is simple - just download nQuake and you're good to go.

If you need more help then you're of course free to post in the forum, but for immediate help i would advise you to use the Quakenet IRC network and the channel #qwrookie (or, as a second choice, #quakeworld).

Hehe. Probably one of the questions I hear most. Maybe it's time for empezar to put up a FAQ on nquake.com, preferably with this question in bold, red and blue blinking colours.

You could also use this web based IRC program.

Nickname: Whatever you like
Server: irc.quakenet.org
Port: 6667
Channel: #qwrookie
Password: None (leave blank)

Press "Login"

Mibbit (a web irc client) looks better and has tab support if you want to join multiple channels, you will be using the similar settings as Åke mentioned above. Pick the QuakeNet network and enter the channel name. Mibbit can also be used as a widget on a site, perhaps the community should have that on one of the popular pages for easy access.

You can continue to use it though, it's just that the author strongly advise you to register or something. Practically the only thing you'll notice is a popup everytime you start the program, which you'll have to close.
