max hz I can get on my screen is 120 hz...


I've read that 154hz / 154 fps in ezquake is the "best" and smoothest setting,


wondering what's the best alternative for me?


120 hz / 120 fps?


120 hz / 240 fps? (quite old comp so I dont think ill get 240 fps stable, 120 is probably solid tho)

i would use as high stable 120*x FPS i can get.

I have only 17" CRT Philips monitor atm and my QW video setup is 640x480 (320x240 con res) at 150Hz with vid_vsync "1.0"

other options:
- cl_IndependentPhysics "1"
- cl_maxfps "0"
- cl_nolerp "0"
- pushlatency "0"
- in_mouse "1" (noaccel and 1ms with XP sp3)

It's perfect and very smooth for me. I like this setup very much! xD
Anybody knows better option, please tell me!

i used to play on a 19' CRT screen. The best for me was:

640x480 conwidth 320
maxfps 200 (with a stronger machine mxfps 400)
and the display was on 200hz.

640x480@200hz/maxfps400-smooth as hell

i change my setup to:
- pushlatency "-999"
- in_mouse 3 (RAW Mode)
- 640x480 (320x240) @ 150Hz
- vid_vsync "0.0"
- cl_independentPhysics "1"
- cl_maxfps "154"
- cl_physfps "77"
- cl_fakeshaft "0.8"

Its smooth enought and very playable with 40-50+ ping.

Certainly not.

You need at least 154fps at all times to use fps independent physics, any fps that isn't synchronised with 77 (a multiple of 77) will add an inconsistent delay to network fps, but it becomes less significant the higher the fps are.

I found that 123 Hz (800x600) at monitor and 125 Hz mouse (X-750F) - the best fidelity with independent physics.
