This idea just popped in to my mind this boring evening.

I doubt that this "mode" would actually work, but I will atleast try to explain it.

Okay, first of all free sign up for a duel tourney (all in the same pool or two skill levels). Single/double elimination based on the number of sign ups.

Each player is given a secret tourney nick on what name he will be playing whole tourney and of course he/she would not tell it to anyone to keep this tourney fun as it should be.

This idea wouldnt have much if any effect to result of games compared to normal tourneys, but it might make things a little bit interesting. In a normal tourney when you see that you are facing a player above your own skill level you might start thinking that oh well its bye bye for me then. In this mode you dont know who you are facing so you dont know what kind of skills/tactics opponent has/uses.

This idea needs many admins of course, since all the games has to be arranged by admins who are the only ones who knows the real nicks of the players.
