Nice server! I'm pinging 30 on it, so it's the best ping I have ever had to a server in Moscow! Hope the ffa will be popular, I'm definately gonna give it a chance!

As for the demo collection, there is too few 4on4 demos for me
Good work!

Nice server and good ping (38ms from northern Finland). FFA map rotation seems good but the maxclients is way too high if the server gets popular. Maybe 8-10 would be more suitable. I'll try to lure some people in to play some FFA tonight.

Deus, i got same ping in Germany and in Netherlands: 51
80 is not playable at all

Ruskie, imho 16 spectators per server is enough, to do not use QTV... or need more ?
And on 30000 port started Qizmo - best proxy in the world

Unlimited space for demos.

Not possible with current MVDSV/KTX, 4096 is the max demos amount.

And check ping please

Best case: 51ms in-game

Waste of cpu cycles and bandwidth (each spectator takes as much cpu as player, which is 1%+ on p4/2800MHz, this applies to bandwidth too). Also MVDSV will not accept more than 32 connections so if you intend to have higher than 16 player limit, you have to decrease the speclots.

For routing, QWfwd is the best considering cpu usage and system resources.

For other features, Qizmo might work as long as it's not heavily loaded in which case it will segfault often. Also Qizmo uses more system resources and if it's autostart scripted, it will cause ipcs queue to get full and after some crash+restarts Qizmo refuses to start/bind socket so either reboot or clearing of ipcs required. Finally, Qizmo can't handle 1024 byte setinfo limit that is used in modern clients/servers.

Renzo, i dont care about bandwidth(30 Mbit) and cpu(core2duo@3.6GHz) usage - they are both fine enough for QW-server. So no lags or delayed packets.

OFC all servers and qizmo have _delayed_ autorestart in case of critical error.

Same ping here. West Finland. That means it's the best ffa server for me, only if it would have more players.. :p

Let's see, by not shipping QTV you deny following features from your users:
- unlimited FPS
- multiview
- scr_autoid 5
- free POV switching
- teamholdbar
- teamholdinfo
- map preview (radar)
- some others on specific conditions

Sure if you prefer your "MY SERVER IS HOT IT CAN HANDLE QIZMO" over your users experience, go ahead.

I'll give you that Sassa can be pushy, but QTV lagging? If QTV lags it's your configs fault. Qizmo lags by default.

Actually i don't know if the recent smooth spectating hack also works when using a qizmo?

QTV have delay about 3 seconds and sometimes it hangup on several seconds, then showing fast what i miss.

Right tuned EZQuake gives good smooth in spec-view.
I get FPS like in game, what the difference with QTV?

And i never seen that qizmo was lagged "by default".

If Im on a wireless connection or in australia and wanna spectate a game in europe with ping 400 or what ever, It will always be smooth for me with qtv but hacky llike a m*F* with qizmo.

As I have noticed its the best to use qtv instead of qizmo for specing and for routing you have qwfwd!!!

Strange, im watching sometimes games in USA - there is about 200 pings, and no difference in smooth with europe, where 38. All you need - is no PL and no matter what ping you have.

QW only one really 3d-synchro-realtime game, and i dont like delays like QTV.
They are killing dinamic even in smiles when spectate

I second what JohnNy_cz wrote! It's so much more than smooth spectating nowadays. MVD features, less bandwidth required and unlimited spec spots = $$$. You also automatically know if some hot game is going on there by checking www.quakeworld.tv.

It would really be a great improvement.

It really does surprise me to see that anyone would claim that QTV is not laggy...
QTV lags. Believe me when I say that.
But properly configured, it'll not stall.
Qizmo will provide as little lag as possible, but stall it will. Although if you run one locally too, it'll smooth it out a bit. Supposedly. Or something.

The added benefit of QTV is that you can list the game on thingie's main QTV meta server thingie, which may get your server some publicity.

But there's no reason you can't have both enabled on a server.

Боюсь что через баги малотестированой софтины ломанут виндовый сервак
Может через пару месяцев дойдут руки - Юникс поставлю, тогда прикручу все.

Translation: Scared about hack server throu untested well software, because server under windows
Hope over several weeks will find time to install Unix - then install QTV and QWFWD.

Not tested? Uhm ok... But you perfectly trust mvdsv then? ... QTV has been tested a lot, security bugs have been found and fixed, just like in MVDSV, both are open source and you can look for security issues yourself if you want to, qizmo is not.

You lose nothing from adding QTV support to your server, you might prefer Qizmo spectating, but a lot of people prefer QTV, so why can't you give them that?
