or just setup your ezQuake with the menu and export your config to something like vonz.cfg
And write in the console exec vonz.cfg for load it

That's not quite good advice by time!.
Simply save it via menu (gets saved as config.cfg) and ezQuake will load it automatically on start-up.

I prefer export configs with names, because i can have more than 1 config, maybe one for spec and another for playing, or tests configs etc...
And, can be good for learning if you save in your config the changes only, not all whole commands

Yeah, but you should never use "exec" - cfg_save name/cfg_load name
cfg_load clears all settings before loading, exec does not

u can get nice graphics like this to..
if u have a config-file in u're ezquake/cfg-dir named gfx_gl_eyecandy.cfg
then in console u type: exec cfg/gfx_gl_eyecandy.cfg
there's also a movie-config named: gfx_gl_movies.cfg

the gfx quality configs (last time i checked) make arbitrary changes to non graphical aspects of the game, so I wouldnt recommend using them.
