HI,I have Inno3d geforce gtx 260, amd 64x2 4600+,abit nf-m2s, 3GB of ram,19 crt and ez is giving my hard time to decent play on this pc. (nvidia 186.18, win xp sp3, nod 4.0). I don't have constant 308 fps with cl_maxfps 308.And I have some screen freezes. Why is that? On this spec I shuld have 308 fps even on highest eye-candy cfg. (i use 1024x768@100Hz@32Bit,qrp textures, custom weapons,44Khz sound)

try disabling one core Do what? The reality is NVIDIA fucked up their drivers starting from 185-series and OpenGL + some older games. What you need to do is: 1) Make profile for ezquake-gl.exe 2) Set "threaded optimization" to "off" 3) Do not change any other setting, leave them to defaults Problem solved.

Set "threaded optimization" to "off"
I also have to do this on my GTX 285 to get stable fps.

I reinstalled XP on my new WD Black a month or so ago, and decided to go for 182.50 drivers since they don't have this particular bug. Even if I play QW occasionally (once a month or so), this bug seems to affect some other games too. Not to mention there are other bugs in 185-series drivers (or later), so I decided to use these 182.50 for a while and see if NVIDIA fixes some of this crap. (gtx285 here too) BTW, threaded optimization is supposed to increase your fps. For me it's +10% (with 182.50 or earlier drivers) performance in ezQuake using timedemos. Not that it matters with gtx285 but still

i made a fps-comparison Threaded Optimization ON Vs OFF. with Nvidia 182.50 thou That's not a comparison of any kind, since timerefresh has nothing to do with real world performance. Use timedemo instead, and you'll get your real results. This is how you do it: <timedemo date="2009-07-13T17:38:44"> <system> <os>Win32</os> <hardware>2047MiB, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz 3000MHz, GeForce GTX 285/PCI/SSE2</hardware> </system> <client> <name>ezQuake</name><version>1.9.3 stable (build 2572)</version> <configuration>Release</configuration><rendering>GL</rendering> </client> <screen width="1920" height="1200"/> <demo><name>1.mvd</name></demo> <result frames="74864" time="PT66.985138S" fps="1117.621047"/> </timedemo> <timedemo date="2009-07-13T17:40:33"> <system> <os>Win32</os> <hardware>2047MiB, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz 3000MHz, GeForce GTX 285/PCI/SSE2</hardware> </system> <client> <name>ezQuake</name><version>1.9.3 stable (build 2572)</version> <configuration>Release</configuration><rendering>GL</rendering> </client> <screen width="1920" height="1200"/> <demo><name>1.mvd</name></demo> <result frames="67553" time="PT66.985252S" fps="1008.475711"/> </timedemo> (using 24bit textures, resolution 1920*1200*32) Threaded optimization enabled is 10,8228% faster than it disabled on this particular demo.
