That guy really scares me. It's similar more to angry walking dead with a gun than a qw player model. Good job! Mine do no spaek engrish!

Looks great! I think the head should have more "wide" to match with the body and the arms should also have more muscles!
And maybe the feet a little less big.

looks like zombie model his legs and ass are too fat and his arms and shoulders are too thin.

I´m doing in 3d max with biped... i´m taking the original model as reference

really nice Rafael, just tried it out - had some problems getting the texture to work, but the animation fits nicely

just extract on id1\progs

Seems I get an error once I load up a level.
Cache_TryAlloc: 9151264 is greater than free hunk.

on command line I put -heapsize 655360

Cara o model tá muito bom mesmo! Tá bem fiel ao original mas com um nível de detalhamento muito maior. Acho que você já sabe, mas só precisa dar uma ajeitada na expressão do rosto pra ficar perfeito.

I agree with vegetous about the model being faithful and yet so much better - I also agree, that it might need some work done to the expression of the face... But that is minor - This is perfect I'm not gonna be jumping up and down yet, as a final download havn't been made available. And for some reason I'm a bit sceptic when it comes to qw player models...

If and when the mode is released. How would the player colors work in QW? Would it just match them on the new model?

Zalon, relax man, I will release it. This is my first character model. I work with architectural visualization and I never had time to make characters, and by the way, is really fun. Rafael, it seems such a waste to make this model without making it compatible with Trickle's vweps. Does this model use the same animations the default quake player does? If so wouldn't it be a simple matter of lopping the cannon off to make it trickle vwep compatible?
I realize it might need to have some arm position adjustments to make it work but it just seems like such a waste to revert to not seeing other players weapons simply to have a shiny new 3d model.
Or, perhaps I am missing something?

I agree with you 5h17h34d, but not everyone uses vweps so they are optional. I actually prefer not to see vweps when I am watching a demo.
to make a vwep model work you would have to create a new vwplayer.mdll.

I didn't think it looked very good at first, but those last in-game-screens looks quite appealing to me. Some more polish and perhaps try to make him a bit more rough (not so...hm...clean?) and it's probably a winner. www.facebook.com/QuakeWorld
