Great news oldman. To compile ezQuake to the latest 10.6 SDK requires some changes in the Quicktime code. As I'm not too motived right now I hope you can take a look at it :-) I forgot to select 10.4 SDK upon Xcode installation..

What are your guys' first impressions on Snow Leopard? Is the "Minimize windows to app icon" mode usable?

its just great. much more faster, and it seems to me that even ezq is smoother than before.
i made a clean snow leo install btw.
strongly recommended.

I could update the code to compile against 10.6 SDK, but that would also mean moving to intel-only binaries which people might not be happy about alternative is to split out PPC and Intel projects to use the different SDKs but that might be more work than necessary. until someone (Tonik) decides to rewrite the asm / software renderer to use OpenCL there's no real incentive

10.6 SDK doesn't support PPC anymore?

OSX 10.6 itself does not support PPC architecture. So no need to have support for it in the SDK.
@oldman: My suggestion is to keep things as they are on the 2.0 branch. Make our prayers an bury the old SDK and move to the 10.6 on the trunk.
Then again I have no idea how important it is to support old fashioned OS support on mac. I always thought Quake players will often have the best and latest. Or else they could always use 2.0 ;-)

maybe a bit offtopic, but is it possible to implement vid_mode, vid_restart, vid_vsync (i know about vid_wait) commands somehow they was working in 1.8.x versions. I know about carbon/cocoa transition, but in 1.9.x ive tried on a mbp and imac also, and vid_wait was quite laggy. Ive tried several combinations of maxfps, vsync_lag and tweak commands, but it was remaining the same. Did the "method" change how the whole vsyncing works?
Is there a 2.0 beta build for osx?

OSX 10.6 itself does not support PPC architecture. Ouch, that sucks! So no need to have support for it in the SDK. Certainly, if you don't care about people with perfectly good PPC macs! (Apparently, Apple doesn't anymore :/ )

well, 10.6 is more of a maintennce upgrade anyway. it's not like you're missing groundbreaking new features if you stay with 10.5. it i quite a bit faster from what i can tell however.

yeah it was pretty crappy when they said they weren't going to build for PPC on Snow Leopard. especially considering much of it would just be setting a compiler flag to support it...

Apple didn't seem to have much trouble producing internal x86 builds of every major OS X release "just in case", so it's pretty obviously not for technical reasons that they're dropping support for PPC now.

P.S. EZQuake compiles fine with 10.6. It just that in 64bit we don't have all of the Quicktime components available.
