How can I get MX518 sidebuttons to work? Now if im in options and try to add some command to them they both are identified as "UNKNOWNo". So I can put one command that happens both of those buttons.

I've tried in_mouse 3 and then in_restart and in_raw..(what was it?)

Any ideas?

I got Win Vista and good computer.

I installed uberOptions and
- added ezquake-gl.exe to programs
- set buttons 4-8 to keyboard keys, then bound those in QW.
- turned "Game detection" off

in_raw_allbuttons 1 or wheelbutton doesn't work.

Side buttons on mx518 should work as MOUSE4 and MOUSE5 without any additional manipulations. You do not need to install any logitech specific drivers (Win XP at least)

I have installed SetPoint. Is that the problem? And now they dont be mouse4 and mouse5, I have tried mouse6 too..

Sidebuttons will work even without SetPoint, but I assumed you want all buttons, because why would you not.

mw_hook is for MouseWare which is agent.

I tried to do what was said in #5 but it didn't work neither.

I got mw_hook.dll in my qw folder and when i went to game and typed bind mouse4 "say hi" nothing happened. Then I tried to type commands "in_mouse 3" and then "in_restart" but ezquake said "couldn't initialize mouseware hook."

Then I tried to delete that dll-file and watched if it makes any difference, then ezquake said that mw_hook was not found.

Any new ideas? :/

I'm using Keystroke under Setpoint with my G9 - used to do the same under the Mouseware with my MX510.

mw_hook works here
using in_restart might come up with an error, just issue it again and it will work

now I did this:

1. put mw_hook.dll to my quake folder
2. Made a shortcut of ezquakegl.exe and put -mw_hook
3. Now to game and in_mouse 3
4. Then in_restart
5. Now ezquake says that "raw input initialized with 3 mice" so there is no error anymore.
6. STILL THOSE BUTTONS DOESN'T WORK, I tried to bind them all mouse4-8 but no no..

Any ideas?

seriously man, what's Your problem. standard mouseware has the keystroke options for assigning keyboard buttons to the mouse. then all You need is to bind that key under qw, and use it at the mouse.

I've tried it but its wery hard work to set them back when returning to windows because I need those buttons there too. :/
