That looks like q3 plasma-gun with a huge splash radius.

Doesn't look like my cup of tea, but what I think could be cool was if you were flying around (kinda like free spectator mode) and maybe some increase in movement speed as well. Would perhaps then also be better with a few custom maps for it (large open areas with a few obstacles). Some custom maps comes in mind, think its one map actually called "kenya"? Its big and open with a kenya flag in the centre. Also that big version of dm4 could suit that kind of gameplay I think.
