I recently downloaded ezquake/nquake again and want to play some CA/TF/MTF

but when i try to enter certain servers (mostly all), the files that should normally download properly are not.

ie. skins/models and maps. I can get in some servers and some i cannot but even when i did get in.. it didnt download the models OR 'mega' menus correctly. sometimes it even froze when i went in that server but now it doesnt since i deleted everything and started over.

it's really inconsistant and annoying. anyone?

Couldn't find file [happens multiple times with multiple files THEN the CM_load map error happens again =(

im using Windows7 / and a great gfx card

1. try not use spaces or specific diacritic letters in directory names
2. try using short paths

I suggest you try to make c:\nquake directory and install it there (well, you may just move files there actually) and try to run nquake from there

Typically there's a public pack somewhere on the webs that you need for playing given specific mod. Download that into your Quake directory and try again.

got pak1. now i can play DM but not TF or MTF or on Some CA servers. same error message. ? ? ?

hmm. it was something in the config that came with ezquake that was messing things up. since ive moved that config, i can enter servers and download properly now, but it looks different.

any idea what is in that config that i need to adjust?
