ah those ideas are top secret! However, I now have Universal binaries (PowerPC & Intel) of both Software and GL ezquake! Link me up! edit: That'll teach me to not read the whole thread

Hey, Oldman. I've been a fan since the first ZQuake port you threw together some years ago. I'm wondering if this issue is ironed out, or if there's an easy way to sidestep it: I'm using EZQuake on my Macbook Pro, but it seems like every .PNG modificaiton I download does not load. Any advice? Thanks.

are you using the latest ezquake mac from sourceforge? it bundles all the libpng etc. that you need so it should work out of the box

Oldman, thanks for the super fast reply! I'm using the April 21, 2006 build, which I believe is the most recent release. Runs like a dream, but any .png graphic modifications don't seem to load. I appreciate any help you might be able to provide though! Thanks, again.

try adding '-showliberrors' to your commandline and then running and checking console for any 'couldn't find' errors

Thanks, Oldman. An error has occured: ezQuake cannot load the required libpng.dylib library.
Thoughts on how to fix this? Once again, thanks!

hmm very strange, as it should read the file from within the .app in SharedSupport
try the following
1. open Terminal.app 2. cd ~/Games/quake (or wherever you have the files) 3. cd EZQuake-GL.app/Contents/SharedSupport 4. ln -s libpng12.0.1.2.8.dylib libpng12.dylib
then re-run and see if it finds it

Thanks again, Oldman. I followed your above advice, but regretably, I still receive the same error message. Do you or any other forumers have any ideas?

i should probably do an updated release with Cokeman's radar work compiled in anyway btw off topic for gaz, you may be interested in SpeeX (teamspeak-compatible UB)

Oldman, maybe I'm being slow today, but I can't find a link to your Cocoa porting efforts, nor a trace of it in ezQuake CVS. Can you please explain where to find it?

it is in cvs under ezquake/osx/ - make sure to do checkout rather than update to pickup the new folder
it is an xcode project

I'm still looking for a decent IRC client - what do you use? X-Chat Aqua has a nice interface but isn't UB so it's a bit sluggish (I have new RAM to install so that'll help Rosetta but I don't have a screwdriver small enough yet heh)

Colloquy is not perfect but sure it's a "decent" IRC client?

i always used http://www.g1m0.se/macirssi/ on PPC, but they have been slow bringing out the UB so i switched to using irssi in the terminal

oldman, can u to make "MAC/UB project file" for MVDSV? :-)

? VVD, you just need to add '-arch pcc -arch i386' to gcc commandline to build a UB mvdsv as it is console application
EDIT: added the necessary things to mvdsv Makefile

Oldman,
Any word on when you will be updating EZQuake's OS X port? Thanks, I'd really like to lick my pnglib problem. Cheers, sir.

Oldman,
I have the same problem with the pnglib not loading. While you're packing a new release Oldman, is there a workaround or do we have to wait for png support?
Thanks for your great work Oldman, amazing.

i will have to try out your ezqw port in software. i hope it does do mvd playback as nicely as your zqwcl port?!
good cheer to you oldman!
