A new single player installment called Grendel's Keep, a prequel, has been released (Download 13 MB):
Playable in Quakeworld engines like ZQuake and Quakeworld (but as I understand it, not yet ezQuake) ... but for the true NetQuake experience you should use FitzQuake 0.85.
Either way, a single player episodic release by a time-tested master of the art. (For more immortal recent releases, check out Func_Msgboard ... especially a Roman Wilderness of Pain [featuring the abominable hounds of hell monsters and Doom II full-force Cyberdemons --- you had better run! --- and the like).
