Yesterday I was on a board meeting of the Hazard LAN organization, and it was decided to do a joint lan this fall. The following details are set:

Dates: 4th - 7th of november 2010 (thursday - sunday)
Place: Fredrika Bremer-gymnasiet in Haninge, Stockholm (http://kartor.eniro.se/m/pF1Ou)
Seats: Around 400. We can get at least 150 dedicated for qw/qhlan as needed.
Entrance fee: 300 SEK (~30€)
Tournaments: Quakeworld 1v1, 2v2 and 4v4 - Hazard are also hosting tournaments in Starcraft, Starcraft 2 and DotA (probably 2v2 and 5v5) but NO CS! =)
Prize money for QW: At least 7500 SEK, sponsorship deal underway for 15000 SEK more, plus some money to help people who otherwise couldn't afford to go to the lan.
Internet connection: 400Mbit (sounds like they're working on a 300Mbit pipe as backup or somethin as well)
Spectator area: "Cinema hall" along the lines of Dreamarena at Dreamhack (and run by the same people). We might also set up extra projectors to cover more matches earlier in the tournaments if there is interest in that.
Monitors for rental: The usual 17" CRT plus a few 19" and 21". All in all at least 20.
Computers for rental: We're working on it, probably at least a few.
Sleeping halls: There are lots and lots of classrooms we can use so there are more than enough room. If you have trouble bringing sleeping gear talk to us and we'll work something out.

What you can do:
- Talk to everyone you know, tell them qhlan is on the horizon!
- Plan vacation and trips... the dates are set in stone.
- Volunteer to help with something.
- Make suggestions who you'd like to see playing at the event. Help out contacting them.
- Prepare to make this the really great Quakeworld event it has potential to be!

This LAN has potential to become the best QuakeWorld LAN ever launched :-)

Make sure to get all people there!! This includes 4on4 clans, as the LAN has potential to host a VERY GOOD 4on4 tournament on a LAN which to me feels pretty rare...

Everything seems to be in the best possible order, now all that's needed is players!!

From the FAQ:
Question: Is there a shower nearby?
Answer: Yes, there is a shower in the building, and also at Torvalla which lies 100m away. At Torvalla there are showers, sauna.qw and a swimming pool available at a low expense.

Is it also possible for foreigners to have flexible arrival times? Like arriving the night before (1st) and leaving the day (8th) after this will help with getting cheaper flight tickets for some people.

Hehe well I will be living in London at the time, so not the easiest trip to make! And it also depends on if I can rent a computer or something Sure would be fun though. I really enjoyed Dreamhack despite the fact there wasn't that many qw ppl there, and that there wasn't any 4on4. Qhlan would just be another dimension

Of course. We were already considering the possibility that some people would be willing to contribute money to get good players there who otherwise would be unable to attend...
