@Matuka : Dude, I Love your WMO mod.. i've some 4 WMO's sitting around (made my stock of those.. since they own big time) .. and I'm willing to try modding one of them... So... how is it done?????

It's actually not a mod, it came like that. I believe it's the LED near the back of the PCB that causes it. On a normal WMO it should look like this, pointing forwards towards Microsoft logo. Whereas I think the one I've got has the LED pointing upwards the top of the case, like this.
I've not actually opened up this WMO to check so as I'm afraid I'll break the two pins at the front (again). You could perhaps try and replace the LED on the PCB with a brighter one by desoldering the current LED and replacing it with a brighter, or perhaps a different colour.

WMO's should be easy to mod after you've finally managed to get the top-half of the case off without breaking the two pins at the front end.

Btw, i have my mousemat the same way Matuka has it!

Semi-late reply due to China travel
I got that from our local ICA (swedish) grocery store for about 10 bucks.
It's a cheap copy from bodum (www.bodum.com) and the coffee (in my opinion) gets better with one of these, instead of an ordinary coffee maker.
