Hello, For those who tried KTX CTF, there are a few issues opened for it on KTX trackers (http://qw-dev.net/projects/ktx/issues) and I would like to get some feedback on the hook speed one in particular as well as the other ones if anybody has some comments. Thanks

Ah good!
Scribbles mentioned a ctf server running KTX just to day that I went to and tested out.
I noticed that your hook speed is set to 800x800. This seems ok.
3wave standard back in 2.0 was 1000x1000 but in 3.0 Zoid changed it to 800x1000 which seemed bogus as the hook traveled slower than the player was pulled.
You could opt for 1200x800 as well...

I'd probably have more input if I could get it to work. It doesn't seem to assign teams red/blue (or allow a choice), or players capture flags. Possibly I need more than one player on the server for this to work. I see default configurations for other game modes, but nothing for running a pure CTF server included.
I've still got my old 3wave configs from some 15 years ago and managed to get 3wave running without any issues, which is what I am running now.

I didn't even know you had to enter those commands, thanks! That'll go in my MOTD for sure I've got mine running and will try to find someone later, so far running much more smoothly.

I can help testing on a server if you would like too. KTX wiki will make all commands and configurations needed to run a CTF port much more nicely and clearly than previously in a few days, around release time. Please provide as much feedback as you can now, we will probably not touch it much after this release. Thanks

cuve.se:27501-27505 supports KTX CTF.

Seems like it doesn't handle the spawn points correctly. Should only use info_player_team1 or _team2 based on your team, so you can't spawn next to the enemy flag

Originally, players were spawned only in base (info_player_team1 _team2) until they were killed. This doesnt account for suicide or jumping in lava. As that would put them to respawn in the middle (info_player_deathmatch)...
here's a list of changes i made to crCTF that you might find some ideas for... http://quakeone.com/qrack/readme.txt

Thanks SputnikUtah.
Medar, if server is recent enough, use the /ctfbasedspawn command to toggle that behavior.

Thanks SputnikUtah.
Medar, if server is recent enough, use the /ctfbasedspawn command to toggle that behavior. I just svn updated mvdsv + ktx, no such command?

dimman, Medar,
latest ktx is on GIT not SVN anymore and make sure you are in CTF mode before trying the ctfbasedspawn command.

On the qw-dev.net CTF server, both runes and hook are disabled and can only be enabled by admin, can this be changed? (default should be both on imo, at least until capture33 takes the world over What BLooD_DoG said here: http://www.quakeworld.nu/forum/topic/5827#90721

Is there a reason only admins can change it?

Is there a reason only admins can change it? I believe deurk feared a "toogle war" if its available for any1 to change. Maybe make it votable?... like the "elect" command,, ? Deurk? never argue with an idiot. they'll bring you back to their level and then beat you with experience.
