If you are useing ezQuake, copy this demo into ezquake/qw/demos folder. Browse to the demo by using the ingame menu and select it. Just walk or jump on the slopes, hold left or right movement key, depends on what angle the slopes have and look forward. Now you should slide on the slopes. Maybe someone can explain it better my english is limited

ezQuake should finally add CSQC and then we can have an mph styled speed meter on the left or right of the screen for the mod Lol.
It would also be sweet to have a map somewhere on the screen showing where you are as a dot.

I just tried race4-beta and it's great! It's not THAT difficult in my opinion but a lot of fun anyway. Race2-beta is a masterpiece among slide maps too. Anni seems to have loads of fresh ideas for this kind of maps!

I need your help to define the skill level of each map I release here. I plan to make a banner at each start, where people can see the difficulty of the race maps. Myself classify the maps as follows: Race1: NORMAL Race2: HARD Race3: EASY RACE4: HARD My goal is to make 8 new race maps and start a tourney directly after last release. Before the tourney starts none routes will be released by deurk! In the future I`m open-minded to make some more race maps since I got positiv feedback from all sides. Finally maps people play on

those difficulties sound about right, but does it really matter whether we can post times on a server? you can practice anyway by just setting your own checkpoints, or just do it without the race mod even ;p from what i heard you wanted to keep the maps fresh for the tourney you're planning, but its already kinda too late for that wouldn't you say? 4 of them have been released for testing already, unless you plan on changing the maps completely for the final version? you have to set your best times on the day to win, so everyone will have enough time to prac anyway until all 8 maps are finalized. it would also be more interesting (to me anyway) if everyone gets the time to get their best possible run out for when tourney time comes around ;p

managing to get about 1200 speed from the spiral in the start, not near enough gonna take some time to clear this one I bet

that one was REALLY hard anni, good work and keep it up! ps. i didn't even make it trough the first lava even if i know howto, like 1.5m from the edge i came in my 51st try.

Gotten this far atm, tricky turning around and getting the speed in that tunnel, and when u do get it you have to time the jump on the ledge aswell. :p

rkd, I hope you're not trying that on localhost with fallbunny off. You absolutely need that extra speed you get from jumping off the ramp on the final stretch of the tunnel. The trick is to hit the far side of the tunnel half way down (just before it turns back) without losing vertical speed, turn around without trying to maintain too much horizontal momentum and then ride the wall all the way down before jumping on the very end of the final slope. You can hit speeds of 1500 horizontally coming off the end, but in reality you only need about 1430 if you hit the ramp right. I once made it with 1370. :E is the kind of success rate I had towards the end. is my best time, but all runs were frought with mistakes. I could see an entire second being removed from those times depending on how well you hit the second long jump.

Today I used my free time to name the maps, clean up some brushes and edited some bugs reported. Final Maps can be downloaded here: Race1: PillarsRace2: Waste WarehouseRace3: The CubeRace4: Curve ControlRace5: Spin CycleNormaly I planed to make some nice lightning for all maps but decided to cancel that, because of less time. Therefor I spend more time in testing the slide system and to discover some new possiblities. Since we have until now one easy, one normal, two hard and one nightmare skill map, I will add one more map to every skill level lower than two, so that we have finally 2 maps on every skill level.

awesome dude. what servers have these? cuve.se:27501-27505 .. They do miss start/endpoints though (afaik). Feel free to make it and send it to me and i'll update it with them.

Race6 Alpha ready for testing. Map is far away from finish but just want to know if the jumps are nightmare enough for the elite Map will be finished tomorrow!

I managed to do the first jump inside to the wall on the left. then I followed the path and I cleared the second jump but couldn't get further on the map, screen just bugged out. But those first 2 jumps were rather easy atleast compared to the difficulty of race5. Tho map seems like alot of fun EDIT: K I can't repeat that 2nd jump I did clear it in my 2nd try but can't seem to do it again.

you forgot to put a roof after the third tunnel when you are gonna enter the fourth tunnel.
