I'm also gonna add "IMPORTANT GAMES" demos, with commentary if possible
so it would be nice if you could all suggest (and link) to demos of important games (9 vs dr kind of games, or games with big importance for whatever, or simply very good games that everyone should see).

and I am also planning on starting working on fQuakesv (Windows & Linux *caugh*i0h*caugh*) in June.
fQuakesv will be pretty damn awesome. I'll make a list of what it will be able to do later.

how about adding 24-bit textures sections for the custom maps?
one for the duel maps, one for the tdm maps, one for the trick maps (if there are any)
i mean it's an online installer, who cares if it's 1TB as long as you can just deselect the big sections and install a 27mb quake

i have tried to install the new fQuake v1.5 beta 2 (Win32) to a VISTA system and sadly it crasches. i have tried to change the compabilty-mode aswell with no success. But if i just copy a previous install over the network the fQuake dir, then it works. /fAkkFejz P.S the Vista version is Windows Vista Ultimate x32

latest fQuake when downloading packages in background keeps popping in front after starting a new package to download. this is annoying especially if you're typing. you can cancel the installation by accident when the setup window pops out. who made those new screenies? how can you set different 24bits skins to players (without gl_nocolors 1)?

the focus issue you're talking about - is this v1.5 beta2?
* Fixed the bug where fQuake would steal focus inbetween downloads.
that should not happen in beta2, and it doesn't for me. it did in beta1 though.

fQuake v1.5 beta 3 released
changelog:
* Setup now indicates that it is downloading an update of an outdated distfile. * Setup now removes distfiles.log after installation has completed. * Setup now checks distfiles' modified dates before checking the distfiledates.ini file for information. * Setup now asks to retry/abort/ignore when a download fails. * Setup no longer creates batch files/shortcuts for stuff that failed to download. * Setup no longer removes pak0.pak and slicnse.txt if they were already there when fQuake was installed. * Fixed the bug where Windows would display the wrong icon in Add/Remove Programs. * Added support information to the Add/Remove Programs page. * Improved source code.
i will not add anything new to this beta, only fix bugs.
check the fQuake changelog post if you want to see what's planned for v1.6

I downloaded fQuake and tried to observe (via qizmo that is) a game. It didnt work out, it whined about missing models (lazer mdl and such). I can play and spectate with fQuake though.

laser.mdl is a sp model.
i'm not trying to spectate tf game.
tried to observate some guy playing on basewalk (that's a map), it whined about progs/end1.mld end2.mdl end3.mdl and end4.mdl.
setting setinfo download 0 didn't help.

did you copy the registered quake pak1.pak into fquake\id1 ?
