Here's my hud, and some teasers for some small stuff I've added to ezQuake. Should be in the next version. My Hud! I made something to have the maximal viewing area. The gameclock is in the center and I guess many people don't like that, but it doesn't get in the way of vision. You only notice it when you have to. Some things you see are unreleased in the last ezQuake build (they'll be in our next release and are in our nightly builds). Like the weapon colors taken from your tp_name_rl/rlg etc values in hud and teamoverlay - notice the colored RL and LG. There are also different teamoverlay powerup styles (font, images) you can change with scr_teaminfo_powerup_style. Notice the yellow R and red P. screenshot 1Here's my hud with hud_planmode 1 to show you where everything is. screenshot 2Scoreboard updates - notice the colors. "pl" color changes when value changes (similar for teamfortress flag touch/caps, not pictured), and kills/tks/deaths start white and change to green/yellow/red when they're not zero. They're also changeable with scr_scoreboard_kill/tk/death_color. "spectator" can soon be changed with scr_scoreboard_spectator_name screenshot 3Hope some people draw inspiration from my hud.

"Forbidden" Because of a combination of my kind heart and complete boredom at school I've created an ImageShack account, uploaded the images and linked them in my original post. They are now available for viewing. My file host is currently having some issues and therefore the HUD is not available for download. @andy - try "scr_newhud 1" then you can use either "hud_editor" or "hud_gun..." variations GL

after seeing phelon's post, i recalled when i used to play with v_viewsize 100 and scr_newhud 0 - i played alot better i guess less viewable area on the y axis... gonna try to play with it now scr_newhud 1 v_viewsize 99 also lowered fov from 120 to 115 now I _need_ eql never argue with an idiot. they'll bring you back to their level and then beat you with experience.

Old skewl Yeah I intentionally made it all 8 bit and picmip 0 but blocky up close/blocky hud, with just a few custom things like the 24bit colour versions of that promode skin I made all those years ago, a thin LG beam and a modified LG gun model with the lightning between the 2 prongs thinned out to match Have always played with cl_sbar 1, stoked to see other people still using it All you peeps that use r_drawviewmodel > 0 to show the first person guns should try using a viewsize value that doesn't end in 0 (eg 101, 111, 121), see how you like it. It doesn't actually change your viewsize, only how the gun looks/behaves when looking up or down (Edited 2014-09-12, 20:08)
