Are there anyone who knows how to get in contact with a possible Icelandic server admin?
US players have like 60-100 ping there and Europeans have like 50-70, would be fun to have a server there to connect us players with eu players.

Icelandic AQ2 players seem to gather at #Iceland.aq. I also found a hosting company (www.orangewebsite.com) which sells VPS and dedicated servers located in Iceland. Their ping test IP is 82.221.28.190 which gives me ~90ms from Finland.

I just noticed that the
Simnet AQ2 servers are online again. My ping from Finland to them seems to be around 60ms. From Germany it's about 45ms. I'm trying to get in contact with the admin of the server to see if they would set up QW servers as well. Please test your ping and paste the results in this thread. I'm especially interested about results from United States.
I also noticed that
Iceland VPS sells cheap servers in Iceland. Their ping test IP is 193.107.84.20. Please ping it also. My ping times to it are 82ms (.fi) and 60ms (.de).

I used some tools on traceroute.org to see what kind of ms it's possible to get from USA. 120ms from New York is the best I can get to both test IPs

it's 46~48 ms from xxx.xx.xx:28000 (r2d2's old qizmo - not printing hostname) - however the qizmo seems down, so with luck, a lowest possible ping from stockholm is 52ms in qw.
from denmark it's 31ms.
from nl it's 45ms(lul?)
and from uk it's 40ms.
but i don't think there's any quakeworld routing facilities within that network at all.
