OK, it looks nice but there are problems: - new sitewill somehow cause skipping of letters when typing (checked with notepad: keyboard works fine) - after pressing a link in topic on page 2 of that topic, press back button and... you're on page one instead of 2...

Sorry, not that I don't appreciate the work, but I'm not registering for the dev site again. I registerd at the time for the ezquake section and I can't log in anymore for some reason and it doesn't recognize my email eiter... perhas there was a cleanup lately (haven't logged in for years there).

I have the same problem with skipping characters in the forum post box...
Also, sometimes I get a 403 Permission Denied error when trying to view forum topics.

My beef is with features we no longer have.
Well, one feature is all I care about. The one that shows the obvious bolded icon on forums and posts that have new activity since I was last here. I hope this new look doesn't kill the forum.

i don't like how the forum view isn't 'fullscreen' anymore, up2 mentioned this before i think. feels more like a comment system for ie. youtube with the posts in a small-ish strip in the middle. some other stuff is great like the video section but that's my main grief. old forum felt more approachable and had better overview. this one has some really cool features but yea... i fear the new look sacrifices its main function, to display threads and posts properly.

I miss the option to go to the last post in a topic straight away. Further good job!

I have to say, I just can't get adjusted to the new looks of the site. Would it be possible to get a second css-file which looks more like the old site, and you could easily switch between the styles according to your preferences?

BuurVrouw you can?? just click the date next to the topic thread, under the column where it says 'latest post'

Paradoks, I have no such option. Have checked it 6 times just now, looked everywhere to make sure I not overlooked anything, but it's really not there.

I have no idea how this "updates" page works, can someone help? No matter what I do, I can't clear them. Also, just another plea, bring back full-screen forum =(

fullscreen forum will not come back, and seriously I can't understand why people want them..
The updates page should be pretty selfexplanatory and easy to understand? It will show you what happened on the site since you last logged in. Or you can choose to change the timeframe.
I believe if you NEVER logout/close the browser it won't clear the updates "since last login".

I'm logged in (qwnu "remembers me" and I've definitely closed my browser/shut down my computer and the updates never clear..

The one thing i loved at qw.nu before the new site design was the centralized "hub" character. There was a bar ontop where the user was pointed to custom gfx, qtv, and MUCH more... several important aspects of modern qw were covered with a single buttonbar there. Perfect for people like me, hopping into qw after 10 years of abstinence...
Forumlinks do still not work btw, lots of broken stuff which was already reported here, or elsewhere is still non functional.

Yes, but going to need more firepower than to just delete his posts, they seem to be everywhere.
EDIT: this is troubling, I should manually go through all his 120+ (normal users don't see them) posts and delete them one by one, reloading the damn page every time? This is NOT going to work like that, need some real fixing to the forum, it's not manageable anymore it seems.
EDIT2: it no longer deletes the messages...

1) The forum needs more moderators or better spam control. 2) The forum needs "latest post" and by whom in the forum view.
Before you answer "Just click updates and you'll have #2!" think back on the time when you would surf to the qw forum and just browse the topics. Not knowing which forums are A LITTLE active makes me turn around and visit another website. I think this is partly the reason for the inactive forums.

thanks empezar, I really agree. Something MUST happen! I can understand summer leave, vacation, sunbathing yada yada, but sommer is coming to an end... and nothing has happened here since spring - I'm really disappointed :/ Join us on discord.quake.world

Totally agreed. Even if it's summer and the scene is becoming smaller and smaller every month, this state is just ridiculous. This website is like the only QW thing many of us check during the summer. I am not too far from saying that I liked the old website better.

I think it was way better. The way it looked and the way it worked, much better. Now with these spammers the site is just useless

I've just cleaned up a couple of thousands of spam posts and temporarily closed the registration as a measure to prevent more spam while we work on new stuff.
QuakeWorld.nu is definitely not abandoned.

I can't agree more with the posts praising the older design. This new one is just terrible, useless and feels just awkward and unintuitive. Not to mention helluva of bugs. Shame. And yes - due to this, I barely visit this page too :/

I don't think there's anyone that prefers this layout over the old one. The old one won't come back though, BUT hang in there for a little more and you won't get disappointed! That's all for now.

thx swi for the cleaning. would be nice to know more about the new stuff... i ask for more interaction between devs and community (damn ticker, still messes with typing...) never argue with an idiot. they'll bring you back to their level and then beat you with experience.

Is there any way to up old site and old forum on another domain name? Like old.quakeworld.nu . I would really like to use it, cos really big amount of bugs on this one leads it to the result that I barely visit it anymore.

I completly agree with the previous posters. The new look of the site is the reason i dont visit it frequently (forum is useless). Personally i think this new look fits perfectly for quake2 page with its robotic/sci-fi feel. But for quake1? Definetly not! It should be gothic/dark in my opinion.
One thing i like about new look is the clearness of comments.
